Limited time only

I'm a pack rat. I have a spare FS1065 from my previous MH.

The big red-head in my current coach can't use it. It takes something far more expensive and hard to find.

For the low price of ... FREE

Send me a PM with your address ad it's yours. Can't bear to throw this away and it is taking up space in my garage that can be filled with other useless junk.

Thanks, I just confirmed it through a Cummins cross-reference table. But it looks like the FF63008's are still available for sale on the Internet - although I guess it's possible that you could receive a 63009 instead.

My FF63009, in my coach, is red. I bought a new one today, it is black plastic. My next question is, why did Spartan change fuel filters?

Dave, my factory installed filter is also red and the pictures I have seen on the internet for replacements filters are black. I think it might be a factory installed color, meaning it's original and hasn't been changed....just a guess.

I don't think it was Spartan but Cummins that specs the filters as they are Cummins parts. I am interesting in finding that answer out as well.

When I looked at it earlier, it seemed that the filter area had a bit of red spray paint on the filter and the fittings. Sort of matching the red engine. I wouldn't read anything into the color. The real question is why did they change? Why did FF63008 become obsolete to be replaced with FF63009 which in turn is now recalled?

Johnny, reading the instruction on changing that filer last night they said the filter had to be pre-filled with fuel first. Did your roadside mechanic pre-fill first? If so that means carrying some spare diesel as well......darn!

Or maybe a siphoning device instead of a jug of fuel in the basement.

Not crazy about having unfiltered fuel hit my injectors. My previous MH had a manual hand pump to prime.

There's a lot of posts about filling your filter pros/cons on the Cummins Forum. I formerly filled mine but have read if not done properly, with ultra clean fuel, it only takes something the diameter of a human hair to plug an injector.

I am open for suggestions. The FS1065 is an electronic primed filter by turning the key on for 30 seconds a few time the fire it up.

The FF63009 is a pre-fill filter before installing. It even comes with a cap so you don't fill the wrong side. Never owning one before....what do you do if you have to change a filter alongside the road?
