A 5 cent cell phone holder that really worked

I have a box full and have thrown away more stick on (I won't drill holes in my dash) cup, vent, window and dash cell phone mounts than I even care to count.

While heading up to Perry, sure enough last years stick on on suction cup mount fell down the dash. Stopped at the rest area, got the Velcro out and made a quick dash mount. It worked great all the way to Perry and home. It's solid that I can change screens without have to reset the holder while changing app. I go from Waze to Raindar often checking roads and weather a head, and the view is perfect.

Throw the Velcro away off my phone when I get home and put a new piece on for the next trip.

Best phone mount I have ever used and I don't care if I throw this one away.

That's a deal. I have a great windshield one that was only 13$ but it's for the car. We have Car Play in our MH radio, but honestly I like Google Maps better. I can do this for the MH, I know right where to put it.

What I found increases the gripping power is to use a command strip (Velcro) on the dash and the regular soft fuzzy Velcro on the device. We use this combination to hold the tv, radio, fan remotes as well. The command strip side comes in light and dark colors as well.

Like Chuck above, I have preferred window suction cup mounts for my iPhone and my TireMinder TPMS and DW’s Phone. I switched for the “sticky suction cup” holders a while ago. Sadly, like Chuck, I have also thrown all of them away, as under warm/hot conditions, the sticky surface releases and soon the whole thing comes crashing down to the floor. So, no more of that business. I also don’t really like the idea of sticky Velcro although I will give that a try but I don’t like sticky residue on any coach surface.

So what I will try first is the type of holder that goes into a cup holder and holds the phone in position. If that doesn’t work, i’ll try the Velcro.

That is the same thing I did, fuzzy side on the phone and carried it for a week, I didn't even know it was there.
Amazing all of the expensive dash type mounts that have been posted on the forums, but I have never seen the simple Velcro idea posted.

Gary, the standard cup holders didn't fit in our cup holders....tried that too. The Velcro sticky comes right off with Alcohol, but this that I just took off, no residue at all.

In my Motor home I use a cup holder. Don't often touch the phone (try to never touch it)

In my car a "Soft Soap" soap dispenser holder slightly modified This holds it above the dash so it can double as a dash cam should I feel the need.

As a retired LE, I would plead with all of you to forgo using your phones to navigate while driving. Think about it, It doesn’t matter how good you think you may be at attention dividing, anytime you’re motoring down the road it only takes a fraction of your attention to be diverted. And most likely with devastating results. 50 thousand pounds of mangled metal can be replaced but you or other folks can’t be. I’m not trying to preach doom and gloom, but you can’t fix stupid; as in a stupid mistake. Use your significant other or copilot to navigate.

Totally agree! DW does the navigating but I use it for the distance to upcoming transition points.

We have the magnetic clip version of a phone holder. It's been working fine using one of the dash A/C vents for mounting and we can swap from coach to car easily. Will have to see how the vents are placed on the new coach. The other thing we have used - for computers, iPads, iPhones, etc. is a strip of silicone sheeting. Sticks on whatever, removes easily without residue and holds almost anything in place. I just ordered a roll to line the fridge shelves in the new coach. Tired of playing catch when you open the fridge after a run down a bumpy road. We use Command Velcro to hang pictures in the coach - if our clip doesn't work in the new coach, we'll try those for the phone too.
