Adaptive cruise control
What was the first year the Cornerstone came out with adaptive cruise control?

Does anyone really like this feature?
Also, rumor was that they (Spartan) were designing an “OFF” switch where you can turn it off.... can it be turned off on the 18s?

You can turn it off on the 2017, but it disables your cruise control too. Yes I like it, but would like to be able to control the distance to vehicle in front of you.

Rumor has it the off button is on the 2019’s and of course it supposedly will not be backwards compatible.☹️

I wouldn't have an RV without one now that I have had the chance to use one. It is great to get behind someone who approximates the speed you want to go, and then as the traffic ebbs and flows, you do also. It has its quirks - when someone is slowing to turn off onto a ramp it takes a long time to disconnect from them.
It also will limit the distance you can follow the guy in front, and so if you want to pass him, you must disconnect the cruise to get close enough to pass. Overall though, it helps the drive and is a powerful safety feature. If your closure rate is dangerous you will get plenty of warning.
Also it monitors the speed of the guy in front, so when a vehicle passes you and then pulls in front, you can see his speed and know if he is pulling away. If his speed is faster, you won't even slow down. When you are approaching a guy in front, you can see his speed and know if you want to pass or not.

I've gotten used to it as well and like it. Franko, you probably know this, but instead of shutting off the cruise to pass you can accelerate and it will disengage until you come off the accelerator, when it will take you back to your previous speed.

Do I understand that you can overcome the adaptive cruise merely by accelerating? The first time I tried to use cruise I couldn't get it to engage. It was a sunny day and I couldn't see the little blue (or was it green) light and of course it was moved from where it was located on my 2015 Anthem. Moreover, I'd set it at 65 and as soon as I let off the throttle the coach slowed down. I assumed inoperable cruise, but in actuality there was a slower vehicle in front of me. It does slow you down "right now" if you approach a much slower vehicle. After reading this thread I'll try using it more often as I did like the readout showing the speed of the vehicle in front of me. Thanks folks.

I discovered that if you’re inside the safe distance from the vehicle in front or at a faster speed cruise control will not engage. Not sure if it’s correct but I started initial engagement only when the CMS screen is blue, seemed to work a lot better. It will resume when green.

IMHO, I hate it for multiple reasons:
1. The monitor is out of the line of sight. Something as important as this needs to be directly in front of you.
2. It disables the resume button when you are in range of a vehicle.
3. It defeats the purpose of cruise control. You have to be constantly on the accelerator.
4. When it actually hits the brakes, it turns off cruise, and you realize that you are just coasting.
5. And, of course, you can't turn it off without turning off cruise.

Some things we certainly agree on...it should have the ability to turn on and off without turning the cruise on and off, and it should be moved so that it is integral to the dash.
Also, it is super bright, but I've found that if it is run in night mode, it isn't bad.

Sure wish we had this on the Anthem. Just got a new toad (Jeep Grand Cherokee) and it has adaptive cruise and love it! I does have a feature to increase or decrease distance between vehicle in front of you and also the cruise can be used in a normal non-adaptive mode.
