Adding 2 more L16 batteries ‘20 Cornerstone
Okay, I’m sure I’ve seen this discussed before but after an hour of searching, I give up. Is there room in a ‘20 Cornerstone to add 2 more L16 batteries into the same compartment with the existing 4 for a total of 6?
Also, anyone know if the coach is pre-wired for solar? And if so, where is that wiring located (controller, battery connection, and rooftop)
Thanks!

I don’t believe there is room in the stock space for 6 L-16 batteries. I think there was one other owner that modified the area and put 2 more in.
If Entegra is still doing solar pre-wire then the cables should be behind a panel near where the house batteries are. On the roof the cables will be tucked down inside one of the black vent caps that are not being used for the black or grey tanks.

I think that the owner that added 2 more L16 is John Ahrens (Rubicon Trail) and I am sure that John will see this.
My memory is that the 4 L-16 sit behind a panel in the rear-most basement bay on the passenger side. He placed new board slats on the basement floor to block the batteries in. I cant remember if he had to move the wall out to accommodate the two extra batteries. John will come along and see this post. I am pretty sure it was him. I found this thread.... first one resulting from the search. Rubicon Trail has the last post in this thread. You can PM here from that thread

So I had Total RV in Indiana add two more L16 batteries when I bought the new ‘20 Cornerstone, they made an extension for the cover plate, carpeted it, the whole nine yards. Looks like it came that way from the factory.
Now on to the performance, VERY pleased! On my Anthem with 2 yr old batteries I would be at 11.9 volts and needing to charge by the time morning rolls around in cold weather with the furnace running all night. The new one I run all night and show 12.2 volts the next morning. I even used the air fryer for 22 minutes the night before (1500watts) the microwave for a few minutes and the Keurig the next morning to make two cups of coffee AND we took two long showers the next morning. Resting voltage after showering and making coffee was 12.0 volts. This was in 20 degree weather so the Aquahot ran quite often as well keeping the coach and the basement warm.
Needless to say, I ordinarily wouldn’t run cooking appliances that long without firing up the generator, this was just to see how much it “could” handle.
I’m sure the new hybrid inverters help some as they are supposed to me more efficient. Overall I’m VERY happy and will absolutely do the same mod on my subsequent coaches.

Sorry, didn't see this until now. Sounds like my install isn't quite as clean as Pwdr's with the fancy box and all. Nice!
That said, it has functioned flawlessly for 2+ years now, and my experience is about the same. The increased capacity transitions the coach from "usable if you're careful" to a truly carefree 24 hour experience. After 24 hours, I need to run the generator.

Extra batteries
Hello, I know you were talking about the newer coaches but my 15 Aspire had wet cells batteries in it. They were over boiling & had bad corrosion from the get go. The factory wouldn’t do anything about it. With some wonderful help from Don I put AGMs in it but i build a rack above the lower one & added 2 more L-4s now we have plenty of power. When we dry camp on the road which we do a lot i run the generator for while while she cooks after parking then a little in the morning. So far the batteries haven’t dropped below 12.2. Thanks b.
