Spartan...

If it's suspension, it's Spartan. Did you pull forward to close the valve?

Call Spartan, they will help you diagnose it.

No, the tag dump is not forward of your front axle. As Don stated, that is your master solenoid in your picture. I gave you bad info on a rear solenoid location. There is only one of these on the coach. There is no solenoid in the rear. Sorry for the misleading info.

If I recall correctly, there was a rash of bad solenoids back in 2014 and 2015.

Gmath, I certainly don’t want to offend you. And I know I’m echoing what others have said. I’m pretty adventurous about doing my own work, and what you’re messing around with would give me pause.

With that being said, and considering you’re somewhere in IN., I would very strongly urge you to make an appointment with Spartan up in Charlotte, and let the experts fool around with that.

Best of luck to you, and congratulations on the new coach.

-Matt

Thanks Matt. No offense taken. I appreciate your concern. I have a background in EMS and had the unfortunate opportunity the respond to a call where someone was crushed doing their own maintenance. I’ve been really cautious since.

Ok, you definitely understand, probably better than most.

Take care and let us know how it turns out.

After a conversation with Spartan and $243.00 the new master dump valve is on the way. Thanks everyone for the help.

I saw a post on a different thread (sorry, I can't find it now to directly quote) that suggested raising the house to its maximum height above the chassis frame and placing 2" square steel tube cut to a length just shorter than the distance between the house frame and chassis as near to the four corners, resting on the chassis so that when you lower the house, the house frame will rest on the 2" square steel tube.

I hope you can envision that.

Yeah, I know, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Anyway, I'm not a big fan of working under my coach. But, if I decided that I needed to, something like this might provide an adequate margin of safety and be much easier than dragging around 20-ton jack stands.

Still, paying somebody with all the right equipment sounds like the best idea.

Be careful.

Take care,
Stu

I have some serious jack stands. I recall them being 20 ton but they are more than adequate for under coach work. I spent around $250 for the set of 2 at the local Freightliner parts shop.

Typically, I’ll roll the coach up on blocks, then depending on what I’m doing I will either lift slightly and then lower onto jack stands, or I’ll dump the bags then lift and support with jack stands.

When it’s on my set of blocks, I’m safe even with the bags deflated. I use the jacks and jack stands as extra Insurance, especially when I need to work on it with air in the system.

Nobody goes inside the coach when I’m under it.
