Many RVers go with a slideout tray for a standard mechanics drawer style tolbox. I've seen a number of them mounted on these trays - Recreational ‹ SlideMaster

Thanks Cruzer. Actually in the bay ahead of the rear axle (On the Anthem) there is a small compartment that sits 2' or so off the floor of the storage area and its about 36X24X16 (W/H/D) I was thinking a small mechanics tool box could sit there and be easily accessed.

That will probably not support a slideout. It is a light duty cover to provides a little storage while still allowing access to plumbing (depending on Model). The back of mine is velcro'ed in. I have a cleaning bucket and supplies. Extra DEF and misc. fluids there.

Matt, I've seen people who store a small, tackle box-sized tool box in there, but only a light weight box should go in there. I have my multi-drawer tool box in the compartment just forward of that area. It sits E/W towards the front, facing rearward, backing up against the slide in the compartment just forward of that area.

I wanted to apply as much weight as possible to the rear wheels, since the critical loadings are always on the front axle in most all coaches.

Thanks for the info Slabman. Given front axle weight can be changed with the tag, does your rig allow you to adjust the tag to dial in the front axle or is it preset from the factory?
