Any Serious Issues?

I'm aware of the paint issue that some had experienced, but has anyone had any severe issues? Just curious if there is anything out there that has been an issue with the Entegra's.

Ed, from what we've read on this forum some owners have had issues of one kind or another. The most recent seem to be the paint on the Aspires and black tank odors. A friend of ours just picked up a new Anthem and has a water leak around the drivers side window. Entegra is stepping up and taking care of all of these problems.

While all of these are problems for the owners involved, I see them as inconveniences - if I had one, none would be labeled "severe" in my book. A "severe" issue would be one that leaves me second guessing my decision to buy an Entegra in the first place. I, like you, am curious whether anyone has a serious issue.

Thanks for the response Tom. I'm mostly concerned with what I would call major issues like the ones that many Tiffin owners have experienced. I wanted to be sure there was nothing like the cracked roof radii and rotting wet bays and major structural issues. From everything I have read, no one has experienced any thing that I would describe as major.

Have had our 2013 Anthem since Feb. Inconveniences yes, but no big issues. We love it.

I agree. Nothing major, just little annoyances. Entegra has fixed everything and supported us 100%. Some of the little things like rattles or things becoming loose are in part due to bad (and I mean BAD) roads that are everywhere these days. Others are due to settling and break in stuff that's normal with any complicated piece of equipment. I have ZERO regrets with our Entegra purchase.

Well, since our LP issue was life threatening, I'd class it as severe. But it does seem to be a fluke, and obviously, would only occur in an Aspire. Other than that, the problems seem to be small. But we did have one other issues that I'll reserve judgement on - our coach arrived with the steering wheel not centered and pulling to the right. Entegra is actively working with us and it's probably nothing that an alignment won't cure. But it was surprising in a new coach. And....one interesting comment on the paint. If you look at the paint on the front end of our coach, it looks perfect. Put on polarized sunglasses and the paint becomes severely streaked. Might be a factor of the mask? No one's sure what could be causing it and I don't consider it a defect, just really weird. We promised that we would stop by the factory the next time we are anywhere nearby so that they could see it also. BTW, the service writer at our local facilty could see it also....it's not just a figment of my overactive imagination!

Just curious, were you ever able to determine who was at fault for your
LP near disaster? The factory or the dealer? I still get the heeby jeebies every time I think about your experience.

Thanks for the link. Scary story indeed. I've witnessed propane fires under controlled experimental conditions. They're nothing to play with. They are very lucky that nothing catastrophic happened.

The indication that we received was that the leak was a result of the test done at the dealership. We were told that the system is pressure tested at the factory and then again at the dealership. If that sequence occurred, then the loose fitting would have been a result of the test from the dealership. But it appears that the errors didn't stop there. When we were traveling after the leak had been corrected, we were unable to use the stove - the flames were high (really high, like up to the bottom of the microware), very yellow and smoked any pan we tried to use. We suspected it was a bad air/gas mix. It's at the repair facility now and they told DH that something had been left in place that should have been removed - and it was burning. I don't have details yet, but apparently we were lucky enough to get a coach with a totally messed up LP system.

I love our coach, and I prefer to cook on gas as opposed to electric. And I like to cook. The gas stove was the main reason we went with the Aspire as opposed to the Anthem (okay, our budget played a part in that decision also ) but if I was doing it again, I'd stretch the budget and get the Anthem.

We were drawn to the Aspire for the same reasons WRT cooking. I think you post kind of concerned us a couple weeks ago...just from the perspective of carrying a tank of propane and some of the risks with that. Grew up in the mid-west where propane on the farms was the norm. I can't remember a single instance like yours, but saw several guys who delivered propane severely burned. Just praying you're soon to get your issues solved...my sense is this lifestyle we're getting close to is far to great to have that kind of worry.

No major issues for our coach delivered in August. Down to on last thing to correct which is a squeakly passenger side slide. Heres a list of things so far corrected:

1. Had to pull steering wheel to straighten. Coach went straight and tracked well. But wheel was 15 degrees off.
2. Smartwheel control was broken for the radio sound, fixed.
3. Fuel fill doors out of alignment, straightened those.
4. Microwave had 2 issues, first was a squeak, ran 2 screws into the rear blocking. Second the vent was not sealed to the outside, used foil tape to create a connection.
5. Odor out of washingmachine drain, shortened hose and used pumbers putty to seal.
6. Slide controls are opposite, ie pass side is drivers and vice versa.
7. Dock light bulb out.
8. A few paint flaws, but not out of the ordinary for a vehicle this size.
9. Had the check engine light blip on, but only for a minute or so and it reset.

I'm not sure how I will get the slide fixed, but if i just run it back out 1/2 inch the squeak goes away. I've put over 2k miles on it and overall very happy with the coach.
