Any suggestions on how to install a direct receiver.
I brought my new 42 RBQ Anthem home and so far no problems at all. Hooked up the receiver to check out the Traveler system and worked great. Only problem is the cabinet over the fireplace is very tight for a receiver. Has anyone found a good way to install the receiver without major surgery on the cabinet.

Stand it up on the side and attach it with strips of Velcro on the bottom to the wall. Makes it easy if you want to change receivers and no holes in the wall for resale.

My coach is the 44B so completely different I know, but my AV-electronics cabinet is also REALLY REALLY cramped with equipment and the wires are an absolute snarl. I have played/worked with electronics and computers since 1959, but I am afraid to move or change anything in that box above the fireplace for fear that I will never get it back together again..... I just pray it continues to work.

I'm not sure if you'd have to change some connections in the basement, but I'm pretty sure you could install the receiver in the bedroom.

Get a H25 receiver as they are small.
DIRECTV H25 Reciever Dimensions: Width 8.66" Height 1.12" Depth 5.75"
Can also be wall mounted.

We had the Genie box server in the bedroom and the much smaller client box over the fireplace in our RBQ 42. Plenty of room for it and a couple of bottles of single malt. I don't know why you would want to go with the HD boxes when you can have Genie.

The installer put the large receiver in my bedroom behind the TV. Then I had wireless router put in basement. Finally each TV has its own wireless Genie. Costs a little more/month, but now each channel can have its own program on...good for sports in the salon.

In my 13 Anthem RBQ there was a removable panel above the other control box over the TV . With that removed my dish receiver fit perfectly.

Thanks everyone I got it mounted to the back wall. When we go to full time I think I will do the genie setup.
