I have a free-standing RM 7720 and I am quite happy with it. It does know left from right and it takes me where I want to go. I like the ease with which it locates RV locations including truck stops, Walmarts, rest stops and campgrounds.

I just received the 8gb update. I have no big complaints, but maybe the update is better.

Marc, I have not used my RM enough to know the fine points. How do you pull up rest stops ahead? Will it show rest stops for several miles? With the Garmin I had to load a POI for that. Just wondering if I need to load that for the RM. Thanks.

I have already loaded one button touch for Cracker Barrels ahead.

Press the menu icon on the lower right, then "Choose Destination", "My Route", "Parking Rest Areas". It is actually easier than it sounds here, and it will show all upcoming rest areas along your route.

Once you see the list of rest areas, you can touch the one you want and the press "Begin New Route" which will make it your current destination. After your rest stop, you can go to "Choose Destination", "History" and select your original destination to resume your trip.

GPS is great and we use ours all the time... BUT... you still need to know where you're going, if not it will take you some crazy routes sometimes. I guess there's still a need for human intellect after all

I had the same issue saying the camp ground was on the left when in fact on the right. I updated the software and problem went away.

Hopefully there is the option to put the rest area in as Via Point and not interrupt the intended route. I am sure I'll get it figured out once we get ont he road. Thanks for the starting point for the rest areas.

On a iPad CoPilot GPS uses no bandwidth. Program is loaded in it.

But you do need it plugged into 12V all the time. Which is not a problem.
Also my iPhone has unlimited data for CoPilot or google maps.

Same CoPilot $14.99 license is good for both

Anybody's GPS know left from right, ours doesn't

My 2008 Garmin tiny-screen does a great job!
I pay attention to road signs to tell me about curves, etc. The GPS is only about the roads to take, along with "trust but verify" by looking at a map. A GPS is only a machine. It will assist you but they all have troubles with road maps of entire continents; the whole world, actually!
Happy Trails y'all

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Guess the next step is a warning of a bump in the road.

However it is sure nice with the Entegra GPS to have the display on the 32 inch overhead TV where the DW can give directions while I'm fighting Atlanta traffic.
