Anyone had to remove front TV in 44B??

Within 2 days of taking possession of my new 2015 Anthem 44B, my cat chewed through the fiber-optic cable between the big Samsung and the Bose audio bar (Which is little more than a hair width cable). I have looked carefully and can't see an easy way either to replace the fiber optic cable or remove the TV. Any suggestions or experience?

Gary.

I think the easiest way to remove the tv on the B is to take the whole bracket loose from the countertop behind the tv. I have NOT done it but looking back there it looks simple enough. JMHO 🚌🚓

Once you get it replaced I'd suggest wrapping it with a wire mesh to protect it. If you wire the mesh to 120 volts that should prevent the cat from ever doing that again.

I am going to call the factory if I don't get a better suggestion from someone on here who has done it already, but it appears that there are screws down into the fireplace top which are on both sides of the bracket. The screws on the left (aft) side of the bracket look to be a piece of cake, but if there are screws on the forward side of the bracket also, my arms are simply not long enough to get to them. It looks like there are matching screws on that side also.

Also, tried to get a picture of the back of this TV from Samsung, but their owners manual is remarkable for not having any actual photographic images of the connectors, plugs, etc. There are some diagrams but nothing that shows where the digital audio comes out (none that I can find). It seems like it might come out of the back whereas most of the connectors for HDMI or USB etc come out on the right side (just behind the right front of the screen).

I took down the big TV in our DEQ a couple of times. 4 large phillips head bolts behind the TV. 2 are easy, and the forward 2 are difficult. I used a ratchet handle to give me the reach. Alignment to rehang is tricky but doable.

I removed the big TV above the fireplace in my 44B. I removed it attempting to install another HDMI cable to an AppleTV so I could send movies and pics from my iPad and view them on the big screen. Turns out that model Samsung has just two HDMI ports.

I chose not to mess with those 4x6 mm bolts because they looked pretty hard to reinstall.

To remove the TV I had a helper. I used my short but stout Milwaukee electric screwdriver with the square drive bit and I reached behind the TV and unscrewed the wood screws holding the steel bracket to the countertop. When you are down to the last screw (the hardest to reach) you can "swivel" the whole TV about 30 Deg and easily remove the last screw. The TV is pretty well balanced and not extremely tippy. The helper is just for insurance to hold the TV. The Soundbar is mounted via Velcro and is easily moved.

Thanks for that info. The TV / soundbar mounting has been a mystery to me.

I updated the firmware in the BluRay player and have the ethernet port from the BluRay player connected to my router. It has an option to be able to stream Netflix, Amazon,Hulu etc right from the BluRay player. The only time I need to use my Roku box now is for MLB.tv during baseball season.

To add HDMI inputs, Radio Shack has a device like a splitter. Two inputs which may be selected and one output to the TV. I use that to project the computer on the TV when desired.

Dave

THAT is the information that I needed.... thanks!!!!

When I looked at it, I could see what looked like two screws on the aft side of the TV and probably two hidden screws on the forward side. I could see how to get the aft ones out but simply could not reach the front two. I never considered that the TV would rotate with three screws out. OK, I will give that a try as soon as I get home, and then will put the fiber optic line in a plastic loom, or flexible PVC so she can't do it again. And I will resort to the electrified mesh as a last resort

Here is one thing I have installed on a few units 4 into 2 works pretty good and there are several brands out there to choose from. Amazon.com: 4x2 HDMI Splitter/Video Matrix, Amplified (4 In/2 Out) with 3D Support: Electronics
The 4x2 works well on the Entegra setup remove the HDMI from the bluetooth plug it into one output run a HDMI from the other outlet to the Sat HDMI on the wall plate plug the Bluetooth into one input and what ever you want into the other 3 Now you can send any of the 4 inputs to any TV in the coach.

hi Eric !

You found me. I have been on the road the past two days and then one more moving food/stuff off the Anthem into the house. This is the Anthems first visit to its new home so we needed to figure out how to configure things.

I thought you could find this site to be a big help as you take possession of your Cornerstone in a few weeks, and since you have been motorhoming for two or three decades, you could be a big help to some others who could profit from your experience.

The way to send a private message to anyone you see here on site is to tap on their name or avatar where they have a post, and that will take you to their information page and on that page, one of the options is to send the person a private message. When you do that, the message only goes to that person, and that person will get a email sent to their email account that they have a private message on iRV2, and when they log on to iRV2 , up in the top right corner when you log on, you will see a notation that you have "X" number of private messages and the notice is in Bold.

Now that I know you are here, and your avatar, I will respond in private messages, except to threads.

Good to have you here

Gary

You could connect your Apple TV or your Apple laptop to you HDMI connection above the TV. I have my Apple TV connected and scroll pictures on all TVs. I can also put my laptop display on my biscreen TV through the Apple TV.
