Once again one size does NOT fit all.
It all depends on how the coach manufacture decided how to plumb and wire the engine coolant to the Aqua-Hot or Hydro Hot.
What works for one owner many not work all owners.

Same here, any demand and the diesel burner kicks in.

If I read these posts correctly I should leave both elec and diesel burner switches on when stationary and on shore power, right? I did try it while showering and it seemed to work that way. What happens if you have both on when heat pumps call for heat when it is above 40 degrees outside? Also the burner definitely will not operate if fuel tank is at or under 1/4 tank.

Leaving the switches on keeps the boiler tank of fluid up to temp. This function is completely independent of what you elect to use for a coach heat source. The thermostat controlling coach temp functions doesn't directly affect the boiler coolant. If you use enough hot water or you pull enough heat out of the boiler tank with the furnace function for the fluid temp to drop enough then the diesel burner will fire & bring the boil fluid back up to temp.

If you are using heat pumps then you are not using Aquahot for heat. The heat pumps will not affect the Aquahot in any way.

Thats true I didn't think of that. Thanks
So when both switches are in the on position the electric will give you some hot water but when demand goes up diesel burner will kick on. So when you think it will be too cold for heat pumps to warm coach you should switch thermostat to gas (diesel). Sorry for the questions this is not only my first aqua hot but my first coach.

Correct. No need to apologize, we all started as beginners.

Mistake I made first time using heat pumps......check what the overall low temp will be before going to bed. If it's going to be low 40's set the thermostate to gas. It is not fun waking up to 38 degrees inside

Chuck, my thoughts exactly. 61 and 66 degrees inside was too cold for us. Sure wish we were in FLA like was our plan. Darn surgeons.

Awesome FIRST coach! Congratulations.
There are no STUPID questions so ask away.

I have been on this forum for probably a year or more before we got our coach. It has been an invaluable asset to me. Thanks to all that post here.

Roy, I hear that on the surgeons. However the current 80 degrees is very humid if it makes you feel any better. I wish it would cool off just a little.
