Aqua Hot 400 LP air adjustment

Has anyone adjusted the air combustion fan settings. A larger opening would decrease the howling noise we are experiencing I think.

I'd be interested in this as well. Significantly louder than my old Oasis unit. Not so much on the inside of the coach - but on the outside. My neighbor has asked me about that "strange noise". My guess is that the combustion fan is already optimally set by AquaHot.

I talked with AquaHot customer service late Friday
They suggested opening the intake to almost full open using a 7mm drill bit as a guide in the holes.
The temps here are at low 30 at nite mid 40 in the day.
Halloween nite the ghostly howl was fun but you can here it inside our house.
I made the adjustment last nite it has been quieter.
Tech said some units are worse than others. They are shipping an update kit for our Unit which is a 400LP.
We will see how it performs with the adjustment.

The issue is the setting is made at 5000ft in CO so not right at lower elevations. I have had 2 that would not even light in our shop so far. Adjustment however is very easy. Remove the service cover by taking out the 3 1/4in bolts and wiggle it out. Put a piece of tape over the safety switch to hold it down. Loosen the bolt in the center of the air cover and the screw at the top of it. fire the unit up and adjust the flame by rotating the air cover slightly you can view the flame while doing this thru the burner window. When done the window will be bright orange and the burner will be quiet set the cover back on and close the compartment to test before you tighten everything back up. This may have to be done at any major elevation change sadly since it is a fixed setting and cannot self adjust.

Does this apply to the Diesel version or only the LP version?

Makes sense. I think most of the noise on mine comes from the combustion fan/compressor which, the LP version does not need.

Today I got the optional exhaust configuration kit from Aqua hot.
this kits available for the serial numbers 130001-140062.

it is designed to solve the hard starting in extreme cold weather plus solve the harmonic resonance problem some units have.
Aqua Hot supplied the kit at no charge and free shipping.
kit contains new 2" exhaust pipe,clamps and SS tip plus Chrome downturn.
also included is a gauge pin to set the air intake on the air shutter
plus a new fuel nozzle size .093.
I will update after we install.

Just contacted AH.

They said they don't have a kit for the 375 LP model.

What model AH do you have in your Aspire?

We had the same noise, one camper said it sounded like a cow in heat😀. We called CS and Jeremy found us an AH service here near Pigeon Forge. Joe came to my 14 Aspire 44B and after about one hour of trying to fix it he called AH. AH said there is a campaign service needed S-157 & S-156. They are shipping a fuel nozzle and a new exhaust pipe. Joe will be here at our camp site in a few minutes. I will update after parts replaced😃

Yes Curt we have a 44B. The exhaust pipe is .5" larger and he turned the pipe 45 degrees toward rear. It is still making a rumbling or chatter noise on start up for about 10 seconds.
