Aqua Hot backwards
A H is 1 1/2 yrs old & works great when using. My problem is when it's been off for a few days the reservoir Over Fills with coolant, when turned on reservoir will empty until I add. Always been told to fill coolant to cold line & it's grows as fluid get hots. Mine is backwards, p/s this is my 4th AH in coaches never had this issue. This is not the original for my 2014 Anthem it was replaced after original had internal leak, any suggestion? I have had unit on enough to get the air out of lines not sure of next step to try.

Something is obviously been plumbed wrong when the replacement was installed.
Your situation is against all logic and science. Obviously something is not correct and my suggestion is to take it to an authorized service center to evaluate your strange and odd situation.
The AH expansion tank has both cold and hot level lines on the side of the tank. Cold one is lower, hot one is higher.
This tank is no different than the one on your coach engine or the one in your car.
Coolant expands when heated and contracts when cooled. When the AH unit has been turned off for a few days the level in your expansion tank should drop to no lower then the COLD line. When the AH unit is on and the diesel burner has cycled on then off, the coolant should be at its hottest state and the coolant level should be no higher than the HOT line on the side of the expansion tank.

Richard, I found this is the owners manual. Try this, if it's still backwards, call AH, (as I wash my mouth out with soap.)
Monthly:
It is extremely important to check the Aqua
-
Hot’s anti-
freeze and water heating solution to ensure it is at the prop-
er level for operation. This task can be done by visibly check-
ing the coolant level in the Aqua
-
Hot’s expansion tank. At
maximum operating temperature, the antifreeze and water
heating solution should be at the level marked “HOT” on the
expansion tank. The coolant level should be checked ONLY
when the Aqua
-
Hot is at maximum operating temperature.
Therefore, this procedure should be done immediately after
the diesel
-
burner cycles OFF. Reference figure below. If it
needs refilling, reference “Fluids” in the Care & Maintenance

this issue started after the new unit was installed, I called CS when I noticed it was told get it hot & turn on all zones which I did still have had issue for over a yr. I think it's something in the plumbing like someone noticed, just don't know what.

Would it be possible the heat exchange is leaking across from the fresh water side?

What about air in the system? I vaguely remember experiencing similar symptoms whn mine was new. Eventually it stabilized. A year or so later, when I flushed & refilled my system I filled it from the bottom drain with a pump. No air.

Richard, along with what Bob said, there is a bleed valve on top of the unit to bleed air out.

I don't think is air in lines, I have bled valve & turned temps up to 80 degrees over night to no avail. Did what CS advised.

It is a strange indication. You likely have air leaking into the loops above the expansion tank level when the AH is not running. This causes the expansion tank to overflow as antifreeze is pushed back to the tank. When the restarting, the heat up will initially continue the tank overflow a little more until the pumps start and move the air bubble back to the AH. The air will bubble up into the expansion tank then leaving you with a low level. Since this started after the unit changeout, look at the loop connections right above the AH. The other potential connections are at each air handler, one above the drivers front wheel, & several in the PS water bay. There will be a very small amount of antifreeze leakage during operation. (Only enough to slime on your fingers).
You can narrow down which loop is leaking by only restarting the AH with one loop operating with zone 1 and watch for bubbles to vent into the expansion tank. After it's all vented or there were no bubbles, start the second loop with zone 3 & watch for bubbles again. Where you see bubbles, you have a leak.

I talked to AH & they had never heard of issue like this, suggested I tap on check valve. Don talked with Chris @ c s (there guy) he thinks like EZ that there is a small leak somewhere, I am checking all the x changers now. Have no ideal how to get to some of them like the 2 under the fireplace, I did find a very small amount of residue on 1 xchanger under slide near sink. Will advise results.
