I had mine changed at Entegra. They had to drain and flush the system. I had them refill with the pink anti freeze as it is easier to find at just about all camping worlds. I was going to try to replace myself until I saw the hoses. Well above my pay grade.

From those that I have talked to, they do have the new motors. Jacob was going to send the AH tech out that did my change last time for the newer motors, and I said no thanks. It took me 2 days to fix his work. I'll let Entegra mess with it next summer.

With that said - would I be better off to do it myself?

Not if the new motors require new hoses and a pressure fill for the system to get all of the air out. The hose laying at the bottom of the AH with the red fitting is where the system gets pumped and purged. I am going to let Entegra do it. The tech here in FL don't have much experience with heat

What???

Oh. I wonder if it is better to fill by pumping backwards in through the drain line with the red fitting.

I had to have a martini before I got that.

Good question. I just assUmed yes. I should ask to make sure - otherwise, what's the point.

So, because of my concern over so many Aqua Hot problems and just leaving on a 4 month trip. I called Aqua Hot gave them all our information and they said all was well with our serial #. We turned the floor heat on yesterday afternoon because it finally got cold enough in Vegas to try it. Lasted about 8 hours...woke up this am and no floor heat...checked zone 1 REDLIGHT! Called Aqua Hot right away and guess who else needs all 4 pumps replaced! My biggest disappointment is I really believe they knew, last week when I called, should recall many more but are just waiting for the call of the failure!! Sad that is the way business is done these days!

Doug, I hate to say this, but I have had the same problem with AH until the motors quit. Then it's, "oh yeah, those motors need to be replace." I am on my second set where two of the motors have failed.

I changed my Aqua Hot pumps with the new round pumps, and Yes the system must be totally drained. To replace the pumps all new hoses are to be installed as the new pumps have a larger diameter port. When I changed mine I totally drained the system using the installed drain and pumped the coolant through a filter into a clean five gallon container. Replacement is not very difficult. When refilling the system I used a pump and filter and refilled through the drain hose. The only coolant that I lost was what the filter needed to become wet. Took about two 12 ounce water bottle of coolant. After filling I ran both pumps and then topped off the expansion tank with one more bottle of coolant. Since then I have not added more than a water bottle full of the coolant and all my systems work as required. The engine preheat pump also requires replacement of some hose due to a larger pump port.

Good Luck.....Entegra worked on my AH for 3 weeks and still couldn't get it fixed. I finally had enough and decided to continued on our six month Western trip and waited to have it fixed at a certified AH service center when we got back to Florida. This was also strongly recommended by AH. All I know is since I had a certified AH shop work on it a month ago it has been working great!
