Aquahot Service
Where does one go for annual service on the Aquahot? What is the typical price for this type of service?
Thanks
Jim

Depending on what area you are in, I am in FL and have mobile techs all over this area in the winter time. Service is $200. if they do it, if doing it yourself, $15. for the fuel nozzle and $8.00 for the WIX 33109 fuel filter.
AH also lists approved service centers on their web site and most RV dealers are equipped to service AH.
Entegra also offers the service if you are in for work or PDI.

I agree with Chuck about doing it yourself. If you are handy at all it is not that hard and there is great documentation on the aqua hot site. The technology used in the webasco burner is 80 years old and very straightforward, and because the aqua hots typically do require a good bit of simple maintenance and repair after a few years, it is well worth the time to develop the skills to do it yourself. Also, $200 would be a great price, but you can pay a lot more depending on where you go, and at general rv service centers, often for someone who may not have worked on them many more times than you have.

I have no one in PA to do this that is certified, several told me they could.....no thanks. I looked up the manual online and serviced myself in the beginning of this year. I replaced the pressure cap, nozzle burner tube, swirl chamber and fuel filter. It is as simple as your access is to the unit. I bought my parts from a guy on the west coast that has a forum, cant remember his name. I had problems with it until that point, works great now.
I will say this, a basic service not hard, trouble shooting it, looks different.

Anyone know of a good service rep in San Antonio, TX area? I have the 400 LP and need to flush it and transition to the green.

It is nice to see the names of several of us here on iRV2 who are certified AquaHot service people. I have added you to the list of possibilities. I have needed an AquaHot service tech twice in the first year, both times due to failed pump motors, which now seem to be working fine.
You mentioned San Antonio. The person that I found a long time ago who has a very big and well developed web site and blog is a fellow named Roger Berke. Many people think of Roger as the AquaHot Guru. He knows a lot about AquaHots and has been servicing them his whole career, and my memory is that his physical location is San Antonio or Austin, however, I am pretty sure he is close to you. I would let Roger work on my AquaHot any day. Roger also has a complete line of replacement service parts so you can get anything you need to do the service yourself from him and his web site. I also found a mobile tech in Phoenix area named Cameron Mobile RV tech, and he did the cleanest, quickest, most complete complete draining of my AquaHot system, motor change, and recharge of the whole system that I have witnessed. He waited a long time after re-charging the boiler fluid to make sure that there were no air bubbles. Very competent.
And finally, the guy that first did annual service for me was a fellow named Lloyd DeGerald, who is a full time motorcoach guy and routinely is at all FMCA and big rally events. He was at Quartzsite all week last January. The great thing about Lloyd is that if you will sit there and watch what he does, he will lead you through a masterclass on AquaHot parts, service, and procedure. He loves to answer questions and knows everything anyone needs to know about AquaHots.... and he travels with spare parts for everything.
Oh. service that I had to pay for (my Dynasty) cost $200 plus parts. So the last one cost about $220.

We've deleted several posts that either were soliciting or were responding to a solicitation for business. Just a reminder, solicitation is not allowed in our regular forum section. Members wishing to promote their business can become a site sponsor.
Making referrals to a business where you've enjoyed a good service experience is allowed, as long as you have no financial interest in that business.

Agree with the recommendation for Roger Burke. If he isn't available, try Rudy Leggett out of Baytown, TX.
