Aspire 42DEQ Questions
I have a few questions concerning this model that I have not been able to find the answers for. I have not been able to see this model yet.
1) How long is the awning and is it mounted on the slide or on the main frame? We spend a lot of time outside and would like a nice awning.
2) Looking at RVDirect it has the following option I cannot find anymore info about. I guess this would be instead of the L-Shape couch.
"100" Sofa w/Incliner, Ottoman & Hide A Bed "
3) Does this have a 50 or 55 degree turning radius? I have seen both listed on different websites.
4) What would be different between the 2014 models vs 2013, 2012 or 2011 models?

The only answer I can provide is that the Aspire has a 50* cut while the Anthem and Cornerstone have the 55* cut.

Thanks for the reply. Here is another question.
How many exterior compartments are actually for storage? Searching the web I only found a few pictures of these. I am hoping to get more than what I have now (140cf).

This dealer does an outstanding job list pictures for the Aspires.

1) About 7-8'. probably sturdier than the Girards that we Anthem and Cornerstone folks have.
2) The L shaped couch has one position that has a foot rest that comes out. It holds a full size air bed that folds out if it is like the Anthem DEQ. The "L" pulls out from the couch when on site. I think the couch is 72" long. May be wrong, but the 100" couch is in another model.
3) Answered
4) I don't know which Aspires were on the Freightliner, but sometime during that period they switched to Spartan chassis...I think 2012. A big plus. There is a 2011 on this site's classifieds that you can read about the options for a 2011. can't help you more on this one.

Concerning the question about the awning how long or wide is it looking from the front to the back? I am assuming the 7 to 8' is how far it projects out from the coach.

Yes...from just behind the entry door to the end of the front slide...I'm just estimating 18-20ft. Someone will likely chime in with specific size.

My 2013 Aspire has a 55 degree wheel cut. If you go to the Spartan web site you can download spec sheets for most model years. Can't say for sure on the other questions as we have an RBQ.

This question is from the DW. What are there two different colors for the furniture and wood cabinetry?

Windsor and Tuscany. The link I posted above will have lots of pictures of both. They also give a very detailed description of each floor plan, paint colors, interior colors with about 26-28 photos of each MH. My DW spent hours on that site.

How much of a learning curve will there be going from a 33' 5" gas rig to a 43' diesel tag rig? My current coach has a 42 degree turn radius where the 42DEQ has a 50 or 55 degree. So the 43' should be easier to back in a spot than my current coach. Driving down the road should not change much.

My 43 foot Entegra backs much easier than my 38 FT Travel Supreme on the same chassis. It also turns sharper which is nice where I have to make a U turn coming out of my storage area to come home. Outside of watching the extra 10 feet behind you when you make a turn, the learning curve is low.

We went from 29' gas to 40' diesel to 43' tag. Between the 29 and 40, we both took the driver confidence course at Lazy Days. Helped a lot with the transition. Several folks in the course had been driving their coaches for years, one was a retired semi driver. We all learned some new tricks. Not as many bad habits to break when you take it when doing the move up in size. Made the learning curve a lot smaller. LD offers the course at both their locations and I'm sure there are comparable courses in other areas of the country.

Looking a pictures there are two different styles of refrigerator. Is this a dealer option to order which one they want. The DW likes the three door model over the two door model. Are they both the same size?
Are there any other options not shown? The only option I have seen is the fireplace.
