Aspire Weight Concerns

I just had our 2013 Aspire DEQ weighed at the FMCA rally in Indio. I found that the nose was practically at the GAWR, and that it was 11,000 pounds under GAWR on the drive/tag axles. We were also just over 1000 pounds heavier on the right front than the left. We were only loaded for the week at the rally, so that was not a factor. The side to side issue is mostly the design. (We do not have the fireplace which would load the left a little more) The nose to tail issue is addressable by changing the pressure on the tag axle. We are having that done at Lazy Days (Tucson). I spoke to Jacob at Entegra customer service about this. He told me that the rigs tend to be right side heavy and that they are looking for fixes for the heavy nose including different front tires. (We have the IFS with Michelin tires) My recommended tire pressures (based on axle weights) are 120 in the front and 75 in the back. I hope adjusting the TAG will alleviate some of this. Anyone else run into this? If you haven't had your front end weighed, you may be running your front tires too soft.

Our Cornerstone was 1400 heavy on the right front. Spartan changed the ride height and got it real close.

We had our weighed and determined by the Michelin charts to run the fronts at 120psi. We have the 295 tires all around

I was told the 13 Aspire's come with Goodyear 295 front, and 275 rear. Is this wrong or are some different? Thanks

I have seen "older" 2013's with the 275's on the rear.

I believe the newer ones, have the 295's all around

I have a 2013 aspire deq with ifs and michelin. Did lazydays change the pressure on rear axle and did that fix the problem? Did u reweigh the front?

According to Spartan (through Lazy Days), my drive and tag weight ratios were correct, so they did not want to change the tag pressure. The problem is sort of corrected by the recall (#13V-013) which changes the wheel/tire combo on my front. My GAWR is now 15.2K and according to the Michelin charts, I can run the front tires at 115 PSI. This still does not address the side to side imbalance. I'm not hopeful that that will ever be improved.

STEW,
THanks for response. Just weighed my deq today and front axle was 14540 just under the original 14600 before the recent change to 15200. I couldn't do individual wheel weights. Our new wheel capacity is 7730 with the 315's at 115psi. Strange but our wheel capacity with the 295's with 120 psi was 7830. We actually lost capacity. Were you over the 7830 on the front right wheel?

John

Might be worthwhile to highlight the last post has 315s on the front as I do...I don't know if that was a change later in the model year. Probably useful to note the differences that appear to be ID'd in the finer points of most of the posts.

Not quite. Our front weights were 7,500 R and 6, 424 L. Axle total 13, 925. We were not loaded for our summer expedition but just to go to the rally, ie for a long weekend. When we start to Wyoming this summer, I will shift some of the load and then have the individual weights done there. There is an entry on this thread which speaks about adjusting ride height to bring the side to side weights more in balance. I will investigate that further if adjusting my load does not mitigate the situation sufficiently.

New Aspire 42DEQ. Had to make decisions about tire pressures, so I got the coach corner weights done a Laxy Days, Tampa.

Below are the weights and my decisions regarding tire pressures.

Passenger side total 19,580.
Driver side total 18,400.
Right side is 1,180# Heavier.
The coach is almost fully loaded for travel.

Coach weighing @Lazy Days, Tampa
Full load fresh water
