On my 2016 CS the switch is spring loaded to the rear position. If I press it forward it disengages ATC and sounds the chime and visual alert. When I release the switch it returns to the rear position so it is a momentary held switch but the actual ATC latches so that you don't have to hold down the rocker switch. If I press the switch forward the second time the ATC re-engages and the alert sounds and informs me once again. The switch always returns to the rear position, regardless of the status of the ATC.

Thanks Mark, I will check the switch on the Classic, but I don't think it is spring loaded. I've never messed with.
