Need to replace my slide topper awning on Drive side (will likely do passengers side while were up there). Ours ripped two nights ago. Will order from the Voss folks.

Is it an involved job? Anyone have a recommendation for a shop or a person (prefer someone who could come to me) who could do this? It’s a ‘14 cornerstone with Carefree awning.

Carefree awning is located in Broomfield just north of town. Might be worth calling them since your in the area.

I’ll call them tomorrow. But I don’t think they perform service at there.

When we lived in Denver we always used Golden Mobile RV and Diesel repair. Luke and his dad are mobile and the number is 720.415.9802. I know they have done slide tops and awnings.

I've never directly compared the two, but some argue that Carefree use their own fabric and it is lighter and less sturdy than the fabric that Girard uses (Sumbrella??). I am sure that Entegra used Colorado Carefree awnings for many years for their slide toppers before dropping their line completely and going with Girard all the way around.

I think that you are only talking about fabric repair, but I also was never impressed with their tensioning mechanism on their models.... I like the more firm tensioning that I get from my current Girard awnings.

I ordered my Sunbrella upgraded toppers from a dealer in TX that were manufactured by Carefree. Ordering through a dealer was almost 1/2 of ordering through Carefree, but that was many years ago.

Thanks for the info. Here's what I learned.

Carefree of Colorado provides no service just sales HQ. They also can't help you order anything without the part number. In other words, they were not much help for 30 minutes on hold!
Does anyone happen to know the fabric dimensions for driver side and passenger side large awning?

They reccomended the following places to do the work:
Transwest
Cousins RV
Kettelsen Campers
and a mobile outfit called Boulder RV 303-449-5660

I have a 14 Cornerstone and am having all four slide toppers replaced. The end caps on my cornerston are SOK II Covers. Look at the size of the end cap and if it large than most likely is it the same as what I was provided by Lacey Larson at carefree are the following:

Zm19262jv complete awning - fabric only is pw1966242 --- the 196 I believe is the length in inches
Zm16762jv complete awning - fabric only is pw171642 ----the 171 I belive is the length in inches

one is the drivers side and the other one is the passenger side. On the picture that the tech sent me had the following information

ZM16762JV 173.25 Driver side
ZM19262JV 198.25 passenger side

By the way, I am getting all four replaces by Stone Voss in Brooksvill Fl.

They will be the last slide toppers I will need. They also ship. I wasn't sure when you said Voss folks if that was the company you were referring to.

I do know that the fabric only from carefree each is 201.00 plus 19.00 shipping at least that is what I was told.

As I mentioned, both toppers were torn, so I decided to replace all 4 with a quality product.
