Battery Recommendation?
Hi, our factory original house batteries in our 2014 Aspire have reached the end of their lives. Suggestions on replacements ?

The first decision point is whether you want to spend approximately $100 apiece for flooded-cell batteries or roughly three times that much Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) batteries.
Significant difference in price, but a significant difference in cleanliness & convenience.
Let us know your preference and I'm sure plenty of brand recommendations will be forthcoming.

We replaced our ‘14 Anthem house batteries a month and a half ago with eight LifeLine GPL-4CT batteries.

I would like long lasting AGM’s, seems the way to go these days.

Well cared for, flooded acid last as long as AGMs. Price doesn't equal longevity.
Check the specs of Trojan batteries, they sell both.

My current factory flooded batteries lasted 5 years. I like the idea of no maintenance or mess as well with an AGM

John, that is a reason to go AGM, not necessarily the lifespan.

John,
Ok, so AGM it is. There are many good brands out there and some (such as Lifeline) will cost a little more than others. The only one I would not recommend is Discover. The quality and lifespan of this make is just not cutting it.
Brands such as Fullriver, Rolls, Trojan, US Battery, you would do well with. For a little more money also consider the Lifeline GPL-6CT which are taller than the standard GC battery. These will weigh a little more than what you have but the extra amps (300 for a pair, 600 AH total for four) will help last through the night when not plugged in.

I have read that changing to AGMs means having to reset the inverter/charger so it knows it is charging AGMs. Is this true? If so is it hard to do?

Yes, AGMs have a custom charging program built into the Magnum. You'd have to call CS to see how you can do it. How long are you going to keep your coach? Have you looked at Lithium? Very expensive but you can draw them down to about 40%, so, much longer draw time out of them. You can set that up with a custom charging program in the Magnum too. PM me if you want more info. I haven't done it yet but have talked with some experts.

Yes, you will need different settings for AGM batteries but it is very easy to do in a Magnum remote panel.

I did the same thing on my 2013 Anthem. Lifelines are the best there is. I put them in my 2003 Beaver and when I traded it in 6 years later, the Lifelines were still performing as good as new. By comparison, the factory-supplied AGM's in my 2013 Anthem lasted 4 years. If you plan to keep your coach and want the best, get Lifelines. The difference in cost over other AGM's is not all that great. On the other hand if you plan to sell or trade in a couple of years, then just about any AGM battery will do.
