Bug removal

What do you use to remove bugs from the area above your windshield? The windshield is an easy one because you can use what you want but the paint above the windshield is another matter. I don't want to scratch anything as the black paint will show scratches and swirl marks.

Treat with Rejex. Then the bugs practically wash off with a spray of water.

I use car wash soap, water (cold or better yet, hot) and this.

This has worked well for me, washing the bugs off with hot water. I use a couple of drops of Prell Shampoo in a 1 qt spray bottle, spray to loosen bug. Prell does not take the wax off like Dawn will.

Purchased one of these to connect a hose to the shower faucet in the wet bay for hot water. https://www.dwincorp.com/product/bra...-hose-fitting/

I use this hose that is strong and reached the windshield area, stores easy in a plastic box. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Zero-G-5-8-...Hose/999972996

Also the long handle bug scrubber from Walmart with lots of water so the finish does not scratch.

Wash the RV in the normal fashion. Use white vinegar and water in a 50:50 ratio. Mist it on and wipe it off.
Another method is “Car-Clay”. It resembles “Play-Dough” that kids play with. McGuires (sp) sells it at auto parts stores and WalMart. It works like magic. Just kneed it in your hand, mist the surface with water and wipe over the surface. You will be amazed at how quickly the surface comes clean and smooth.

Gerard, the method I posted was for end of the day travel. The bug scrubber Marc posted is the same I use as well. I don't pull a ladder out, just get the bugs off to stop from staining.

Use ammonia for dried bugs. It will strip wax too but gets the bugs dissolved.

Bug b gone and a pressure washer. Ryobi makes a small one capable of 1500 psi. It easily fits in the basement. I run it trough a DI so there are no spots left

Go to Wal-Mart and pick up a box of great value dryer sheets. Dip it in a bucket of water and wash off area, then rinse. You will be amazed!! Iwas at a campground after a long day of travel with massive amount of bugs covering the front. Neighbor came over and handed me one, and been doing it ever since......

Does it harm the plastic shield on the lower front?

I use a similar long pole like you find at truck stops and I wrap my Norwex cloth around it and bugs disappear! Once I get the top section clean then I drop down and do my windshield, then the front of the coach.
The Norwex Kitchen Scrub Cloth https://www.amazon.com/Norwex-AX-AY-...%2C284&sr=8-20 has been a godsend for bug removal. No soap just plain water and a light scrub with the cloth and voila, bugs disappear!

Recently another RV'r recently gave us some plastic scrubbers from Dollar General. They work great for removing bugs and dirt on the front of the truck and camper just using water.
