Camera install on 18 Anthem.
Good day to all: Spent most of today installing an inside camera and tying into the RV’s 3 Cameras - two side and rear. The new inside camera is a dome style 360 HD mounted up high between the PS front cabinet and PS side cabinet with circuit breakers. As seen in the second picture the picture quality is very very good.
All cameras can be seen on front tv via input 2. This also allows me to make changes to the NVR when needed to. This set up can not be viewed on the Vega touch or other TV’s, but still allows the three original cameras to operate as normal. The main goal was seeing inside while away. The bonus was getting the 3 RV cameras to recorded and be seen remotely.
Started with finding the RV camera switch box. Located behind the front tv. Ran hdmi cable from that to a NVR
( network video recorder). Which I located in the front PS upper cabinet. I also used a Sierra wireless router and a dedicated IP address for the NVR. You might use an internet hot spot etc.
I have an app on my phone that I use to view the cameras. Same as some use to view home type security cameras. We wanted to be able to see the dogs inside when we are not there and around the RV while being away. Since the way Entegra run their camera system ( cheaply I might add) it was not possible to have each camera its own screen when viewing remotely ( hence the two black screens on my picture). As the RV’s 3 cameras display as one picture, same as on the monitor on the dash.
In the midst of this, I thought why not add a bullet type camera out the front. I already have a dash cam but adding another won’t hurt. And I can view it remotly too. This will be coming in the next few weeks. So I will be able to see all around the RV and inside when all is said and done. Hope this solves some mysteries about how to go about it for others.
