Jersimon, how can you tell the difference between "dog people" and people with dogs? I have to admit if I owned a camp ground and you came in to book a stay, with six dogs in your motor home, a red flag would pop up. You may have the best behaved dogs in the world, but what pet lovers seem to forget is they are still animals, and just because you treat them like your kids, they are still animals. Dogs bark, yip or yelp, crap and pee at some time no matter how well they are trained. The thing most pet owners don't understand is not everyone feels the same way they do. As far as the "service dog" thing goes, It was started for a good reason, and is now very abused by many pet owners. I have seen "service" dogs come out of purses in church, dogs in stores shopping with their owners, dogs in restaurants, with service vests on and all because they can't go anywhere without their dogs. I don't think that was the intent of "service dog" policy. If I have two service dogs and two pet dogs how many dogs do I have? I would think the answer would be Four dogs, but then I am old.
Dave

We're not leaving Tampa until Saturday heading for Sunshine Key which will be our very first excursion since taking delivery of the Entegra. After 2 weeks of being here we're ready to move on, although we'll miss the meals at the Crown Club, haven't grocery shopped or cooked since we left ME. We will have to return to LD the end of March for a leaky kitchen faucet replacement, but other than that we are good to go!

When we went to Blue Water Key RV two years ago, we left Tampa and then made it to Key Largo and stayed at Point of View RV that evening. Not a bad drive and Point of View won't be concerned with 2 dogs and a service companion. Safe travels.

Try Fisheating Creek Outpost in Palmdale, on the intersection of 29 & 27, about 15 miles east of LaBelle. No pet restrictions, although you will need to pay $2/pet for the entire stay. During the week empty, weekends tend to be fuller. All RV sites are 20/30/50 amp back ins plenty big for a big rig.

We ended up at a fairly new resort in Naples called Naples RV Resort. A bit pricey and very posh, but at least our drive to the Keys will only be about 4 hours today instead of 6 1/2. After doing 7-9 hour days to get here from ME we didn't want to put our dogs or ourselves through any more long days of travel.

Love the Entegra coach, but already had to call to make a service appt. back in Tampa, the a/c doesn't work while driving the RV. Same air temp as the vent all the way to Naples.

Might get lucky....I had the same problem, it was the compressor switch wire was not connected or knocked off at the factory while pulling other wires. The compressor switch is located behind the slide out generator door, a square A/C box is in the center of the firewall and the two compressor switch wires with plugin connectors will be next to the A/C box. See if they are tight. Hope it is that easy. Enjoy the trip, it is going to be mid 80's all week.

Sorry about your AC ... but you can always run your genny and put the house AC on when you drive back to Tampa. Be safe and enjoy the Keys!

I'd recommend Sunshine Key but only if you can get an ocean front site with a beach area or a site on the marina. We were moved to the marina after our first night when we were put right next door to the sewer station where the stench was horrible we were going to check out until they gave us a marina site which is very nice. We just had a horrible incident happen this morning involving our little 3-year old long haired Chihuahua. The site next door was packing to leave and they moved their Husky/Shepard mix where it was able to reach our site without our knowledge. Our little guy was sleeping under my husband's feet when the dog appeared out of nowhere grabbed our baby and started shaking him. He started having a seizure so we raced to the vets as fast as we could, but lost him on the way there. We are sick, this really has ruined our vacation. I don't understand why anyone would travel with a vicious dog? Feeling completely numb!
