Campground recommendations?
Leaving Tampa area in a 43' Entegta motorhome heading to Sunshine Key looking for a midway overnight stay at a decent RV park. Traveling with 2 Chihuahuas & a Golden Retriever who is a registered Service dog, already been refused by two campgrounds with strict 2-dog policies. Any suggestions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you~

Just say you have two dogs instead of three. Two little dogs make one medium! No one will care, especially for one night.

Try Miami Everglades Campground or Larry and Penny Thompson park in Miami.
Aztec resort in Fort Lauderdale is nice also.

Why would you tell them to lie about how many dogs they have? Most camp grounds have pet limits for a reason. Not everyone thinks the more dogs you have the better it is. We have camped next to others with one dog and that was one to many. The problem is not the dogs, most of the time, but the owners. Be honest and look for another camp ground. Just my 2 cents.

Just tell them you have 1 dog and 2 rats that you have trained to walk on leash.

X2 on Miami Everglades. I heard Aztec was under new mgmt and the folks who told me weren't impressed
We've stayed in ME several times. It's so far west of Miami that you can avoid some of th traffic hassles

Give dry camping a try. There is a Casino at the intersection of US41 & FL997. They allow overnight parking. You do need to go in & register with security. It's an easy drive from there down 997 to US1.

Because it is an overnight, not an extended stay. And if one is a service dog, they are trained dogs. For a one night stop over, I really find it hard to believe that one more little dog is going to destroy someone's campground.

And, I believe it is illegal to discriminate against a service dog, so in the eyes of the law, they only have two pets.

Really?
You did nailed it though....most of the time the problem is with the owners. We travel with six dogs. After spending several days at a location, our neighbors are often surprised to learn that we have six with us. Our dogs are quiet, well behaved, under control, and we always pick up after them. Campgrounds should differ between "dog people", which we are, and "people who have dogs but probably shouldn't".
