Camping

Does anyone out there have a campsite they could recommend somewhere near the halfway point between Tulsa and OK City off of I-44? We've tried all our usual resources without success - hoping for a casino with RV camping that we don't know of....or something? Our last two trips we ended up boondocking in a rest area...not our favorite. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

How about the Downstream Casino off I-44 just south of Joplin near where OK, KS and MO join? Free 50 Amp power and water, with a dump station. Great place! Can stay for 3 nights ....did I mention its FREE?

The other option is the WinStar Casino on I-35 just north of the Red River. First nite free with a new players card, then $21.50 thereafter. An outstanding RV park!

Bob, he was looking BETWEEN TULSA AND OKC. Bthat is on the turnpike and I am not aware of a park along there. It is only 88 miles and there are parks at both ends of the turnpike.

I use that road a lot in the fall for OU football games and don't recall any parks along that stretch. Now, there is one a little bit off the road at the Stroud exit then go South to the Sax & Fox casino(?). I'd say that is about 5 miles off, but you could probably ask them. Can't say how great the park is. I've just seen signs when I use to go that way.

Exactly....and we didn't have any luck finding anything this time either. Ended up driving long and staying at Twin Fountains in OKC - right at the intersection of 35 and 44. Big park, but a bit of a challenge since our site had quite a slope on one end. Had to unhook and back out. But it had grass and concrete. OK and most of MO is so dry right now that anything less than full concrete sites and roads means a world of dust.
