Several of us have built an attachment for the hose that allows us to cycle the on-board compressor while sitting by the tire. It still takes a while but no one has to force a recycle by hitting the brakes. I'll try to find a photo but they are out here..

Okay, our coach is older but it is a Freightliner and the air bags will not inflate with the jacks down. I know this for a fact as I had to replace the valve that deflates the bags prior to extending the jacks, and waits for the jacks to fully retract prior to inflating the bags.

Yours may be different but for older coaches what you posted is misleading.
