My vent has been open and unlatched since we bought the coach. Never heard it make a sound or do any flapping.
Now, the one thing that I did learn is that if the wind is blowing stiffly on the passenger side of the coach, the wind pressure on the loose microwave flap is sufficient to force the vent to stay mostly closed and that forces any exhaust water vapor or cooking fumes back into the coach.... From now on, if we notice this I will temporarily use a block or object to force the vent open. We partially damaged our woodwork stain on the cabinets next to the microwave when this happened. A word to the wise....
