We have a 2017 CS. Both DW and thought that the cargo lights were coming on when the doors were opened OR all were on when the Cargo switch on the Multi-Plex was lit.

1. Now all lights in the Cargo bays are on when the Multi-Plex is on. I can move the light switch on the individual lights and they are on or off.

2. With the Cargo light off, the bay lights don't come on at all no matter which position the switch on the light fixture is in or whether the door is open or not.

In #1 above: Should the door position affect on or off?

In # 2 Obviously there is a problem and I don't know where to look.

I usually turn the cargo lights on and off from the Vegatouch screen. I assume the result is the same using the multiplex switch inside the door. When the cargo light button is on mine appear to stay on whether the doors are open or closed.

Are you thinking there's a micro switch on each door that turns the lights off when the door is closed? I think the switches above the doors are all there is to turn on/off individual lights. It would be nice to leave the lights in the "on" position and have the door position determine if a particular light is actually on.

The Vega touch and the multiplex are the master switches. The individual lights can be turned on or off individually on their respective housings. They will not come on unless one of the master switches are ON. There are no switch on the doors.

Switches can be added on the doors though. There is a mod that shows how to install them under "show us your modifications" from back in the summer of 14. You would need to install the individual door switches, leave all the light housing switches in the ON position and leave one of the MASTER switches on all the time for the door switches to work. When the door opens, the light would come one.

Its on our list to do..!

That was Dusty56's mod at the beginning of the post. I did as soon as I received my coach, worth the 10 bucks for switches and the time it take to install them. Add LED lights to the center of the basement connected to #1 door switch and the entire basement is lit up like daylight. But that is on a Classic the new models my have already copied that.

Nope....they didn't copy it Chuck. Its a great mod though.

As an added note to the OP, the wet bay has a light switch that is independent of the master switch. Its right next to the macerator switch.. As if you can see which one you are turning on in the dark....

My wet bay light does not come on unless the cargo light button is on.

My cargo lights use to come on, uncommanded, whenever the parking brake was released. They would stay on until shut off from the panel. I had that re-programmed & corrected when I was in Middlebury.

I just checked with the boss...he rewired ours to be separate from the main switch. It didn't come this way. Sorry for adding to the confusion..!

I think it was my misunderstanding - it is apparently working properly
