On everyone of our coaches including our2012 Aspire we unscrewed the cheap factory antenna and installed the K-40 2ft. antenna in black. Simple off and on and has a tuning screw on top. You can get the 2ft size for around $20. When tuned will work like a truckers cb. Can order online or Loves Truck Plaza.

That sounds like a great option as the factory antennas are not much to brag about. Should be able to mount a spring base between the antenna and the mount to give the antenna some "tree branch" flex. corrent?

Except that that would make the top of the antenna about 14 1/2 feet above ground on my Anthem. Too tall, I think. I have gone under many bridges lower than that, not to mention trees.

One of these days I am going to go up and install a six meter vertical antenna on the roof of this beast. Yup, a six meter vertical.

The blang antenna is like 4 inches tall and gives full quarter wave performance. I'll let you folks figure out how that's done.

Used one years ago, left it behind.

Yes, I do have to glue down a ground plane.
