Changing shade bracket mounting screws....Entegra
Taking Noel's advise, I started changing the shade bracket mounting screws today as I had several factory installed sheet metal into wood screws pulling loose and rattling. Some have reported shades falling while driving and I wanted to avoid that.
The correct screws were a little hard to find so I thought I would pass along what and where I found them. The factory screws are #8 x 1 inch, except they are sheet metal and do pull loose.
The #10 x 1 inch wood screws are not threaded all the way, but I did find #10 x 3/4 inch threaded all the way with the combination #2 square bit and Phillips head at Lowe's in the 100 count box for less that $6.00. They have a good bite and are pulling the shade brackets up nice and tight. I am installing them by hand using a #2 square bit instead of an electric drill so they do not strip out. This should eliminate any surprise shade(s) falling while traveling.

Thanks for that advice. Most of my shades have loosened up so I will use your fix.

Thanks as well. I have a related problem. My shade screws over the front windows, the toll window and the door are all tight, but the mounting frame rattles anyway, or perhaps the shade rattles in the frame. I'm reluctant to take it all apart, but I guess I'll have to. Any advice?

Please don't thank me, thank Noel, it was his idea, I just posted the photo and how to.
The advise is to lower the shades that you are working on to access the screws front and back.. Replace one screw at a time so as not to put to much weight on the remaining screws. I am using a nut driver with a magnetic extension and a # 2 square bit also available at Lowe's. Don't rush it using an electric driver and avoid the chance of stripping them out like a few of the factroy installed ones are. It is a two beer project just take your time.

Excellent! I just changed my first motor. I can see how this can be a long term problem with repeated disassembly and reassembly to change shade motors. Of course, wouldn't be a problem if the motors were reliable - but that's another subject.
One of the six screws was never installed for my entry shade bracket.

It is not the wall screws when they fall,,, it is the screws rattle out of the end of the rollers and fall out of the actual bracket mounting, i just now and then check em.

The shade manufacturer has fixed the screw problem on the end. They will also fall if the mounting screws pull out. Noel

The repair shop put some locktight on the single screw side on my drivers front shade. The drivers side fell down while travelling on I40 near Flagstaff. Camping World put the shade back up, but I had to keep tightening the screws, or it would have fallen again. The shop near home put the lock tight on, so will see what happens on my next trip. I needed to put larger screws in the end with the shade motors and don't know yet how that will work. What was the fix from the shade company?

Bob, after I look at them again it looks like they just put a piece of the aluminum tape over the screw and about half the end of the bracket. I suppose that will keep the screw from turning so it's probably a good fix. Anyway that's what I'll do on any I have to change the motor on. Noel

UPDATE:
While changing the shade mount screws on the D/S toll shades today, both of the front screws were missing....there was a shade going someplace to fall
Even after loosening all of the screws I was still not able to pull the front of the mount flush with the 3/4 inch screws. Thanks to Bill in FL that brought me a handful of #2 square bit 1 inch sheet metal screws that he used, I was able to pull the mount up tight again.
