Chargene house Batteries

Can anyone tell me if the Batteries will charge when you're plugged into 30 amp, but have the master switch turned to off

Mine do , but I can't say that for all coaches. Your best bet is to measure the battery voltage at the batteries . Over 13 volts you should be charging.

For many rigs--inverter/chargers are wired directly to house bats and by-pass the on/off switches.....

Yes they will still charge with the battery master switch OFF.

Do you know if the AGS "Command 30" ( I think ) is supposed to work (start the Onan generator) after you turn off the coach battery disconnect (Big Boy) ?

My AGS panel seems to go dead when I disconnect the coach batteries, and therefore the genset isn't started to charge the batteries when they need to be while coach is in storage.

I'm having trouble understanding the logic behind EC's thinking with this set up.

If the battery master is turned OFF then the Onan EC-30 is disabled and the generator will not run.

Thanks. That confirms what I'm dealing with. Can't understand why they wire the system so you can't protect the batteries from parasitic drains and still allow the AGS to function, if needed during long term storage situations. I guess it is what it is......

Does anyone know a reason why the AGS is powered from the house panel? I'd like to move it to the front compartment fuse box.

Everything else to do with the Generator DC is on the Generator Start/Front Compartment branch not de-energized by the door disconnect. Are the newer year coaches have the AGS powered from the bathroom panel?
