"CLASSIC" is a poor choice of words....

I have read several posts on this forum where the earlier Entegras are being coined as "classics". I for one disagree with this nomenclature and have a suggestion for all Entegra owners.

We own a 2013 Anthem....we also own Dodge Vipers, a Mclaren, C7 Zo6 Corvette, Citation airplane and several Harley Davidsons. The word "classic" is typically associated with something OLD (most states consider a classic car one that is 20+ years old). A 3 to 5 year old Entegra Motorcoach is not a classic. Not much in technological, drivetrain or body upgrades in the last 5 years of manufacture.

Being a solution oriented person, I would like to suggest a change from the word "classic" to Generation 1 or Gen1 for short. Vipers are labeled this way from the earliest Vipers produced from 1992 to 1995 known as Gen 1, 1996 to 2002 known as Gen II and so forth.

With this said, Entegras could possibly already be in the 3rd Generation if you go back to the earliest units that had no Girard Integrated awnings, etc.

Believe it or not, you folks with the 2016 and newer Entegras will have the OLD style coaches one day soon...thats just the way of natural progression.

Good luck in helping make this change happen for the betterment of all Entegra owners and prospective owners.

Thanks

After I returned from the 2016 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony seeing the new 2016 body styles, I added "Classic" to my signature as I felt my body style was like that of the Corvettes.......Classic and will never be made again. I had the first Generation, it was a Travel Supreme, bought out by Jayco and renamed as Entegra.

I have never been much of a Chrysler fan and have owned Corvettes for many years. The 62's and before (the original body style) are referred to as the "Classic." 63-67 the "Stingray's" with the 63 being the only year with the Split Window, that now carries it's own handle "a split window". 68-82 the "Mid-Years", No 1983 Corvette, from 84 on they were called the newer models. I don't have any idea if there has been a name coined for the current models.

I guess others can call their MH's whatever they like.

I don't think any of us ever though Chuck's use of the term "classic" meant old. I'm sticking with classic.

If we wanted to get real technical, the classic body style was introduced in 2000 by Ted Cook, his Dad and Travel Supreme. The same body style was kept by Entegra from 2010 until 2015. That makes that body style 18 model years old. Wow! that is hard to believe.

What I call my coach is not nearly as important to me as getting the Vegatouch to control the electronics

I think that Classic is a classy way of referring to something of great value.

Let's not confuse the word "classic" with the word "antique".
