Classic vs New Model

After taking the factory tour today and seeing all of the improvements on the 2018's, I realized outside of polishing wheels and improved methods of washing the coach, I don't know much. What a nice bunch of improvements. Posting the year of your coach now makes all the difference in the world.

Classic vs New Model

Hi Chuck,
Is it time to upgrade our '14 RBQ & DEQ to the anti classic editions or wait for the '21 or '22 next edition models?

PJ and I were talking today...still the best bullet proof coach that was ever built. What electrical problems????? Never had any, just went down the road very comfortably.

We've been talking about a newer model - and downsizing. Now, after a few weeks on the road again, we're remembering how nice it is to have the space and the extra half bath. But some of the new upgrades are sweet...I really love the idea of an induction cooktop (love the one I have at the S&B) but when I hear some of the issues cropping up in the new ones...and our classic is purring down the road...makes for a hard decision. A factory tour would probably send me to the negotiating table. You'll have to keep us posted. [emoji6]. Is there a new CS in your future?

We'll see how this trip goes. I am just not ready to go through a new coach delivery again. There is no servicing dealer in our state and that does hold me back. But the 2018's are sure nice.

I think I'd wait until the 2020 or the 2021 model years. Rumors have it that they'll be major upgrades to the electronics, if you're into that. Would also allow them to continue to improve their manucfacturing process.....

"I don't know much" ??? That qualifies as the understatement of the year! You are one of the most knowledgeable on the forum and have been very willing to take time to share this knowledge and help others on the forum.

Thank you for the kind words, but on the new models I don't know much, even the fuel filters are different. The Classics take an FS 1065 where the new models uses a FS 1089. It looks like a new model owner may have to do an update to the filter list at the top of the page.

Your right on the fuel filters! I tried to buy spare at Cummins NE and they had never heard of that number! They special ordered it.

It's also a massive looking filter housing. Impressive looking. It was also amazing to see how many DEF sensors are visible in the system. I wouldn't know where to begin if a DEF code came up.

There is never a time when you can't look ahead two or three years and expect coming improvements, but if you follow that reasoning then you will never upgrade. At some point you have to commit to what exists and not what may be coming. Either that or keep what you have indefinitely (which will save you a ton of money).

Anyone know if the end caps will be changed out on future models?

They will be better and nicer with more features every year......AND they will cost more. Direct quote from the former president of Entegra from several years ago.
