Clunking on sharp right turns
I have noticed that there is a CLUNkING sound around the back of the the frame when I make a sharp right turn,, In the past i always thought that it was my toad putting a bind on the hitch when making these right turns,, But this weekend we were out and did not have the toad, ad the CLUNKING was still there in the rear frame area.. Any Ideas . 2014 Entegra 42RBQ

Have the axle bolts ever been re-torqued? I believe Spartan requires that in the first 5,000 miles.

It's the U bolts that hold the rear axle to the coach. It is explained in the Spartan owners manual. I had mine done at Spartan and again when I had a 3 axle alignment done. If there is a Clunking in the rear, that would be the first thing to have inspected. Any truck alignment shop will know what to check. If there is any evidence of slipping, it would be advisable to have a 3 axle alignment done. If the clunking was axle slippage, they could be out of alignment not allowing the MH to track straight.

I am willing to bet big that it is your torque box in the rear end. It needs a small adjustment and retorqued and it will be gone. Nothing unusual.

I think you need to do both suggestions. During the Spartan training class I had both done. Billed for a half hour of labor and is recommended by Spartan.
The torque box mentioned is actually called the HTB suspension and is located above the rear axle. From what I remember this only pertains to the K2 chassis that the Anthem comes with and not associated with the Aspire. Not sure about the Cornerstone since I don't own one and never asked about it.

I had the same type of clunk. Took it to a Spartan service center (Holt Caterpillar) in San Antonio. Under the guidance of Spartan they retorqued the torque box which is a subframe for the rear suspension. That was a year ago and seems to be holding up fine.

FYI, everything Entegra builds is on a K2 up to the Cornerstone which rides on the mighty K3.
Insignia, Aspire, and Anthem are all very closely related. There are certainly differences between product lines. For example, I believe the Insignia rides on the solid axle K2 whereas the Aspire and Anthem utilize IFS.
This discussion is great and I'm thankful the topic came up.
Thanks guys,
-Matt

Anthem and Aspire have the same Reyco IFS1700 front suspension, but the Aspire (and Insignia) still have a Reyco rear and tag suspension while the Anthem rear and tag are Hendrickson. I think this is why the Aspire/Insignia has that slight forward creep when dumping the air bags that Anthem owners don't get to enjoy.

Number 29 is the torque box. Number 15 are the u-bolts that attach the axle to the suspension system.
