Hi Mike,

We camped at the Grand Canyon Railway's RV park last week and stayed there 4 days while we enjoyed the sites. No significate snow accumulation but there was about 5" on the ground. The space we were assigned had been plowed however there was about 1/2" of new snow on the pad.

I'm not an experience winter camper and we were really unprepared for these conditions. As we were getting ready to depart, I remembered a post on making sure the 4 lifts were not frozen to the pad. I put the hose on my bib, turned on the hot water and melted the area around each pad. Problem solved, or so I thought.

As I pressed the accelerator to pull out of our space, the Anthem moved a few inches and the ATC kicked in and no further movement... It was a Sunday and no one to call for advice. After a half dozen attempts with no success I was about ready to get the hose back out and attmept to thaw out the wheels when I decided to "rock" the Anthem back and forth, from drive to reverse, and attempt to defeat the ATC. That worked but there were a few anxious moments.

I'm from Texas and I'm limiting my trips to higher elevations to the above freezing months. Good luck with your trip.

While true, it also won’t run much further than 1/8 tank. I wasn’t paying much attention one Winter several years ago. My suggestion, make sure you have a full tank if your going to be on a location more than 45-60 days. It just isn’t any fun feeding the beast with a fuel can!

What transfer pump are you using, and where did you purchase it?

Very good point. #1 or at least 50/50 blend. Word of advice to anyone using strictly#1 diesel is get some lubricating additives in. These injector pumps need to be lubricated and#1 is a dry fuel. I like to use "Power Service" additive. Works good for me. And you can get it almost anywhere. White jug..
