If mine have been running as the temps dropped from 50s or higher, they will work for me down to around 35-40. Then I go to AH. If it is going to drop below 35-40 overnight I go ahead and shift to AH rather than get up in middle of the night.
As far as noise, mine sound the same outside whether in heat pump or AC mode. I have the Colemans. JMHO, they aren't loud enough to bother neighbors unless the neighbors are looking for something to bitch about.

Mine will not really produce heat when outside is below 43 degrees. I run mine all the time with no noise complaints. It is not any louder than the a/c.

I appreciate everyones input on these units. As I stated before I went from a 12 year old coach with Dometic heat pumps (no heat strips) that would keep our coach comfortable at 25° to these and expected the same if not better performance. Was not expecting heat pumps that don't heat.

My roof units are really loud outside the coach, but when my front compressor kicks in, I get a pulsing vibration inside the coach that shakes my brains. Lazy Days hasn't been able to fix it. It just makes me crazy. It's like a harmonic waveform that really messes with your hearing. I've read in a couple of places that it might be a bearing that's failing in the compressor, but it shakes the whole roof.
From an operation standpoint, if the temp will go below 45, I just switch the heat to AH.

I also have a vibration similar to what you describe in my front unit. You can feel it all the way thru. Its worse when the unit shuts off and the fan is coasting to a stop. Our mh is in the shop now for some other issues but that is on the list for them to check the balance of the fans.

Well, I've given Lazy Days several opportunities to fix it, and they have not been able to eliminate it. Frankly, I think the vibration comes from a bad bearing in the compressor or squirrel cage. I'll be asking Entegra to either fix or replace.

I've had no problems with Coleman...had #2 have a electrical box that drives the motors go bad. They shipped a new box that I easily installed. Then #1 had a bad condenser. They shipped a new unit and third day, I had a mobile installer put it on top. Entegra paid the labor. Shouldn't be a problem. Recommend you discuss with Coleman CS; Entegra should be able to give you the number. I don't have it anymore, but Coleman has five CS guys and the two I talked to were very helpful. Sometimes it is just easier to talk to the OEM about what is wrong and then let Entegra work the business details of the fix.
