Comments on power?

Although we've toured the Aspire, Anthem, and Cornerstone, we've never test driven one. Any comments on the power of the Anthem? We currently have a Greyhawk 31DS and power is not so good, especially in the high desert! Our Anthem will be ready in June, and our toad will be a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. Thanks.

Friday we are headed into the mountains with our coach. I'm anxious to see how it handles the uphill grades. When I have a chance, I'll report in with my take.

You will be pleased with how it handeled the mountains. May not be running 60 at the top but you will keep up with truck traffic no problem, at least that has been our experience.

We climb the Cajon pass towing 10k in a box trailer and fully loaded with water running 50-55mph up hill. This with the lower powered Anthem 42DLQ.

I would imagine the 600hp would fly up the hills.

Definitely no issues with power.

We live in Colorado; on even the steepest of mtns, we are passing the trucks. We typically don't pull a toad, but we have zero complaints.

We just finished 3,000 milis round trip from Houston to Las Vegas NV for Nascar weekend and back, so got the mountains of north and south New Mexico and Arizona on the Interstates, plus the fun part of Hwy 63/93 from Kingman to LV and back to Tuscon. As noted above, we were as fast or faster than almost all trucks and had no problems pulling the big toad (see sig). Just don't be too timid about pulling to the left lane and passing a truck or you will lose momentum and be really slow, but still get to the top.

I've driven many a mountain pass in mostly Colorado. My Tiffin had plenty of power but it was 10 feet shorter with a 340hp diesel. I'm just anxious for the fun to begin. In countdown mode!

You won't have a problem. I set my speedometer on 60 mph on cruise control. I've slowed to as slow as 45 mph (8% grade over 1.5 mile) with a head wind. Didn't press the accelerator. Pulling 7500 lbs.

I slowed to 35 mph on a steeper hill near Big Bend Natl Park. Don't remember the grade.
