Coolant sight glass
I think this topic is here somewhere but I could not find it. Just received my new sight glass from Spartan and the bill for $27.12 plus $16.02 shipping. Spartan claims they will replace defective sight glass but not one that you can't see through. "Just clean it" was their response but of course you can't.

Mine was also no charge. After taking mine off, it was stained and would not clean.

Same for me although I had a Spartan authorized shop do it while they were doing other stuff so they were charged. Obviously doesn't break the bank but also doesn't make you feel good.

I had the old style on our last coach. It did get dirty and every year or two I would have to remove it and clean it. It wasn't that hard to clean. I just sprayed WD-40 in the glass bowl and wrapped a heavy paper towel around a Q-tip and wiped it out, put some Teflon tape on the threads and screwed it back on. I agree that it wasn't the best design because it was hard to tell your coolant level. The new style should be much better, assuming that the flat surface doesn't gunk up like the bowl style did. Time will tell I guess.

After removing and cleaning my site glass numerous times during the first 6 years I owned my coach I fashioned a coolant dipstick.
For 13 years I've checked my coolant level by simply removing my radiator cap and inserting that dipstick.
