Should be about 1-1.25 % of value. That value with National General should be around 3500$ and with State Farm around 4500$. Don't quote me but I should be very close. I DO prefer State Farm over Nat General though. Much better company and service !!!!

You'll need to get comparison figures from others in your state/county/zip code. Insurance costs are HIGHLY risk-pool dependent. Much more so than coverage-dependent.

You definitely can't compare across state lines since insurance is regulated at the individual state level. What someone in Colorado pays is going to be very different than what someone in Texas pays. Even within the same state, what someone in Dallas pays is going to be very different than what someone in Austin pays.

Contact an independent RV insurance agent like Ron Jarvie at Overland or someone at Miller RV Insurance to get quotes from different companies based on your specific situation.

Here is a list of FL insurers I put together a few years ago. It would be a starting point to obtain quotes. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/curr...em-189038.html

Where stored, hurricane zone, credit score, etc. all have to do with the rate that will be quoted.

$2,039 for 2016 Cornerstone. Full replacement coverage, slightly higher liability, diminishing deductible, glass coverage. Town of 50,000 people in Wisconsin. Clean driving record, age 65. Progressive Insurance through Good Sam.

You better examine what you are actually insuring for because that rate is nearly impossible. I wonder if your insurance company really understands what you have or you are getting a special “low use” rate. I have never gotten less than $1,400 quote and quotes run up to $4,000. Per year. I have insured with 3or 4 different companies.

I think I am right at $1800 after considerable shopping.

Gary, you and I live in Hurricane zones. I pay double of what I paid in CO, no damage from blizzards.

Varies state to state and also based upon credit rating.

FWIW, South Dakota is increasingly yearly because of the increasing number of people using SD as a "residence"/mail forwarding and thus a higher incidence (note: not per motor coach population rate, just population). And according to Progressive agent last year, California and Florida rates were lower, based upon lower incidence per motor coach population. Who knows where truth lies because there are multiple components to these quotes.

Rate quotes, for similar coverage for me last year ran from $2600-4000 for my South Dakota residence and clean driving record.

Initially paid around 2800-3000 per year.
This year's is 4300, which I attribute to a fender-bender
Clean record, dinky town
High liability, High Deductible
Full replacement.

Progressive through USAA

The OP’s signature shows he’s in Florida, so unless he is in some utopian cave city in Florida, I don’t think he is in an “insurance hole”.....

Maybe he is paying by the day?

I thought you were referring to Mark's post of $2,039 a year for a Cornerstone, as your post was right under his. Sorry about any confusion. I pay more than Mark for an Anthem in FL.

I just went through the yearly insurance drill. S. Dakota residency but " could " switch to Fl. due to owning an RV Lot. If we changed residency to Fl. our % increases would have been , 10-20 % on coach, 10-20% on car and 100% on Harley. Currently all 3 are about $3700 to include an Umbrella Policy.

However as previously stated there are many factors that dictate your rate.

The OP is saying a coach value of $425,000, not a $425 premium.
