Cost of shade motors?

I have owned my coach for more than 5 years now and have replaced several shade motors. I called CS today and they won't send me any more free motors ( I do appreciate that they supplied quite a few at n/c) So now I have to buy some because the motors on the day shades are breaking. I never replaced any of the day shade motors, it has always been the night shade motors that gave up. I KNOW, I should have replaced both motors when one of them quit working.

I would like to know how much people are having to pay for the red motors. I bought 2 last year in Tucson and they were over 180.00 each with tax, so I returned them.

Is this the sort of price that everyone has to pay for these motors? Does anyone know a reasonably priced place to acquire some?

My part number is: Part#: 0713807

+1 (817) 790-7771

I may well be wrong (thankfully) as I have not had to replace any for several years now, but I thought the newest MCD motors were a different color now.... black?

Do a search in Ebay. I saw some that would work a few months ago for about $35. May not be there today, but worth looking.

Just replaced one motor. Contacted EC CS and they gave me the part number, 0713807 and directed me to contact an EC dealer. I was advised the current motor is red. The cost of the motor was $84.63 from NIRVC in Atlanta, GA. I am trying to find a better price as two days post the motor replacement another shade motor quits.

Ebay has several universal motors to chose from Starting at $23. going up to $65 for the Red motors.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-12V-RV-E...0zkY:rk:1:pf:0

Amazon $52. for red motors. Looks like the hard part will be finding decent motors with push button programming

I havent kept up on my shade motors, but if the most recent motors are white MCD motors as JH indicated, I would not think that buying anything else would be worth the cost. My memory is that both my yellow and red motors failed at an equally unacceptable rate, and the only motors worth buying were the same motors that MCD blinds used, which were the newest version that were available for replacement about 2017 (I lost track after that since none of my 2017ish vintage motors failed). The difference in failure rate from the original OEM on my 15 classic (red or yellow) was marginal and unacceptable. Additional cost for the best motors available would be well worth the cost. IMHO, you want the best that there are available, and you want at least two of them so that you replace both motors on a section. ]

Do a search on here for past shade motors which has been heavily discussed several times in the past beginning in ~ 2015 and continuing through about 2017

Entegra’s shade motor issues ended with the red motors. I replaced about 20 shade motors but never lost any red ones.

On the older motors they would loose programming and make them look like the motor is toast. It could be a power glitch, low voltage, or too many button pushes in short time or ???

Before you replace any motor I would try to reprogram them. That might be the problem and not have to replace the motor.

I am told all of the new ones I think sometime in or around 2017 they came out with a new one were the motor will keep the programming. This may have been a dream since I talked to a owner of a 2018 IH45 that had to get his shade reprogrammed.

My 2017 came with red motors. Several of them have failed and been replaced with the white motors. You can tell which motors, without removing from shade, you have by looking at the program button. If it has a push button on the end for programming it’s a red motor. The white motors have a little switch encapsulated in a clear rubber cover.

Send a message via Yahoo to jagmoor
I purchased 3 from NIRVC in GA for about 95.00. Needed 2 more so I called Lazy Days (I was in Tampa) and they quoted 172.00 each. “Are you sure”, I asked? “Yes sir”, he replied. So I called up my invoice NIRVC had emailed and guess what. He “matched” their price and gave me an additional 10.00 pff the invoice. Go figure.

I have been lucky and not had any shade motors go bad until just now. I was checking around on prices and thought some of you might be interested. I contacted Entegra parts for the correct parts number for my shade and it looks like it is the same as most everyone else has posted for their classic. The part number Entegra gave me was 0713807 MOTOR,SHD TBLR "RED". I found what appears to be similar on Amazon and contacted the seller who responded with this message:

We have the part number of Model # ES2512D-0.7/34 in stock with prime delivery, but just a little different that what we have is just with 2 wires, and ES2512D is from MCD company,

Please search B078S9517M, it's fits for 1.18 inch roller tube

B07F1MRKHW, this one is fits for 1.5 inch roller tube

So please check your roller tube first before place an order, thanks (I am not sure if this is the same motor or not)

On Amazon this motor sells for $52.89. I am not sure if this is exactly the same or not.

I also found them locally in the DFW area at National Indoor RV for $68.10 and at Motor Home Specialists for $70.10 under that part number.

MCD had a shade motor also that they said would fit. Their motor part number is 50.338 and that motor is $125.00. I am not sure if the motor from MCD is the same motor as the others. I did not get any details. I plan on picking a couple up from NIRV later this week.
