Dash air problems

Three year-old coach. Fan squeals like a banshee unless on highest speed. Evans Tempcon says no warranty. I wonder how many others have had the same problem. The labor to get to this thing is horrendous. How come my eight year-old car's A/C works just fine but this has crapped out after three?

In 2014 there were a few motors that went out shortly after delivery. I assumed it was a bad batch of motor as I have not seen any posts on it for a long time. Sorry to hear yours went out.

David, I'll try to locate our fan tomorrow when I get ours home.

Typically these motors aren't difficult to change, if you can gain access.

Maybe a call to CS will result in a schematic, or something to determine access.

Thanks. NIRVC says they will have to remove the dash- a several hour process?

Just read Brian's post trying to find how the A/C motor gets changed. It doesn't sound easy, I doubt the motor would come out through the passenger side removable dash tray.

Hi guys, sorry to have taken so long to respond to this.

I'm going to qualify everything below with the fact that your CS dash is most likely different. If it isn't due to the year, it probably is due to the higher model line. Perhaps the CS has the Champagne dispenser where we have a drawer?

On our 2017 Aspire, you simply remove the lower drawer and you're in business (see attached). I can tell there are one or two fasteners that will provide significant mechanical entertainment, but that is pretty typical.

Were I to perform this job on ours, I'd likely pull the upper center dash segment because I'm better at turning wrenches and connecting wires than laying on my back.

The tray in front of the passenger gains access to the plywood box supporting the dash.

If you can post an image of your dash, I might have some ideas for you.

After looking at ours, it would absolutely not involve a dash removal. Again, I qualify that with the knowledge yours is likely different.

I hope this is helpful,

-Matt
