DEF and Diesel Lock Cap
Has anyone found an after market DEF and diesel locking cap? If so, where and what did you purchase?

You can probably find locking gas caps at any auto parts store. In a previous thread people were posting that they got green fuel caps on Amazon Stant 10591D Diesel Locking Fuel Cap. I haven't checked for locking DEF caps, but probably a good idea.

These are the ones that we purchased for a 17' cornerstone.

Both of our DEF fill doors have locks of their own. No need for a locking cap.

Amazon also has a locking DEF cap.

Finding a locking cap is not the challenge. Finding one that fits was our question, so if anyone has purchased caps for the 2015, or earlier classics, please advise. Everyone, thanks for your input. Once we find the correct caps for our coach, we'll post the part numbers.

The one I posted below will fit the 2015. Spartan has not changed the diesel fill caps between model years. I think I got the link from folks with 2014's that purchased that same cap.

A friend once told me that it is cheaper to replace the fuel than to replace all the fuel that leaked out onto the ground AND the fuel tank because someone punctured the bottom of the tank to get some fuel.
Think about it. Someone comes up to your rig with one or two fuel cans. How much can they take? Five or six gallons per can? Wouldn't they get nervous the longer they are there siphoning?
If, instead, they puncture the bottom of your tank what they don't get drains out onto the ground. And there you sit with no fuel and a punctured tank.
If your fuel tank is up inside a compartment where its access/location in indiscernible then a locking cap is great. If your tank is readily accessed just by crawling under the coach then think well about converting to a locking cap.
If it is vandalism then that is a whole different reason to use a locking cap.
Think about it.

Its vandalism that we worry about. Either the addition of something that would destroy the engine or even as simple as taking the cap off and having the fuel sucked out and flow down the side of your coach while you are driving.
The fuel tank is some pretty thick steel and its doubtful that anyone could get a can or container under there that is more than 12" tall. That's a lot of effort for a gallon of fuel or two. I'll take my chances with the locking caps.

Is it your intent to prevent theft or tampering? Your DEF tank is probably mounted in a locked compartment and not visible when the door is closed. Fuel - unless you are parked in a unlighted open area, why worry about it.

Luvlabs, you probably haven't been the victim of tampering. We have. Our DEF door on the 2015 Anthem does not lock, so a locking cap is essential. We have now ordered caps for the two gas caps and the DEF container. If they fit, we'll post the part numbers with photos. All three are due in by 9/27/17, provided rapture hasn't occurred first. Ha ha!

Received our two locking gas caps today and the fit as replacements. They are made by Stant, who also makes the original caps installed on our 2015 Anthem. Here's a photo of the packages.

DEF and Diesel Lock Cap
Here's a link to caps from Oreily Auto Part. Anthem46 posted this a while back. I bought a set for our 2016 Anthem about 6 months ago. They had them in stock for approximately $21.00 for the set, keyed the same. Thanks again to Tommy!

Are people really having problems with DEF and/or fuel theft? Is this happening in storage or when traveling? I don't own a diesel yet but have owned my gasser for 17 years without a locking cap and never had fuel theft.
