Descalling the water system

We have lived in our coach for three years now. Even though we have used a water softener the entire time we are getting mineral crystals in the faucet screens when every I change the filters it seems. The water at the resort we stay at for the summer is quite hard. Has anyone descaled their water system or does anyone have any advice about how to do it?

The only thing I have descaled are the screens, faucet ends, and shower head by soaking them in CLR.

And that is why we installed a professional water softener in the coach at NIRVC, Phoenix. Those small portable tanks just don't do the job for full-timers, especially in certain parts of the country, and we're lazy and hate squishing the shower every time. Since installing the softener, we have never squiggied the shower, and it still looks like new after 6 months.
