Digital Dash reboot

While driving my digital dash has rebooted 4 times. Screen goes completely black and then a few seconds later comes back up. I have 9,500 miles on the 2019 Anthem.

Spartan suggested to checked for loose wires. That has been done and it has still rebooted while going down the road. 4 times may not be bad for a 9,500 miles.

Anyone else had this issue?

Gary

I’ve never had the dash fail nor should it ever fail! Wish I had some ideas for you. Sounds like you are going to have a tuff time finding the issue since it only happens randomly. Good luck

Gswindle,
FYI I did have my dash reboot one time at about 3,000 miles but hasn’t done it since and were at 7,000.

My 2019 Anthem dash rebooted today for the first time that I have noticed. Coach has 7800 miles.

I would think they have programmed in that it will create a log file of just before the failure. You should be able to get that to the powers that be so they can view the logs and find out what is causing the crash. Then come out with a update.

For 6 reboots having been documented here, I bet there are at least twice as many, or more.

My 2019 Cornerstone has a little less than 14,000 miles on it and the dash has never rebooted. Now, a whole bunch of other stuff has crashed or rebooted, but the Valid dash has been bulletproof. You need to start talking to Spartan.

The last 2 days of driving I have had a reboot each day. Mine is getting more often. I am currently up to 6 reboots while driving and I am at 10,300 miles. I have reported it to Spartan and Entegra. I am hoping that it has reported to Valid.

Are they not asking you to send them a log or do anything?

Gary S.

By a reboot, I assume that you mean that the Valid digital screen goes completely blank/black for a period of time and then comes back on in full display with all information???

I have previously discovered because of my problem that there is a connector right near the floor and to the left side of the steering column that when unplugged, takes all the information out of the display. It is the CAN J1939 communication bus and there is a junction right by the steering column. If that junction came or jiggled loose, you would still have dials and gauges, but no data in those gauges. I assume that is not what you mean by a reboot. But if it is, that connector could be loose.

Digital Dash reboot

It is a full reboot when it happens. The screen goes black for maybe 3 seconds and then the Spartan symbol appears and then maybe 15 seconds later it is back up working.

We are headed to Middlebury next week. It is on my list.

Take pictures for Middlebury when it happens. If they can't duplicate, it will probably be a trip up the highway to Spartan. Hopefully it is just a loose plug. We have not had a problem with our dash rebooting.

if it goes completely black, my bet is on a bad wiring connection. What you describe is essentially what my dash does when I fire up the engine or simply turn on the ignition.... ~ 3 seconds of nothing, then the Spartan symbol, and then the appearance of all the icons and gauges. Sounds like a bad connection on the wire that powers up the dash when the ignition is turned on.

Be sure and post the fix when you figure it out.... seems like it might be something that another owner struggles with Gary.

Gary, is testing your insulation one of the items on your list? Current temperature in Middlebury is -17. Timing is everything and your timing sucks! Stay warm my friend!
