Barmats, if you haven't tried the Koni's yet....consider it. We just drove down MI 131 that had a section of repaired truck ruts in the right lane that would have had me driving in the left lane to stop beating the coach to death. With the Koni's we hardly noticed them. No wondering in the uneven pavement either. I still can't get over the improvement with those shocks. I am just sorry I waited two years!

Thanks, Chuck. I read your post about the Koni's and the difference it made in ride quality, and it's something I think I will have done. Is there a specific model of shock that you can recommend?

The difference could be something as simple as tire pressure. I hazard a guess the Anthem has been weighed and the proper tire pressures set. The new coach will have the tires inflated to the max recommended by the manufacturer so the tires will be overinflated. Once the tire pressures are where they should be the steering as well as the ride should improve.

If you have to start adding a bunch of after market options to the coach find another one. It should drive very well right from the dealers.

I do not know the shock number for the Aspire. Spartan can give you that number or it might have been posted in the Koni shock post. If you are having ride and steering problems like I was, don't torture yourself any longer. A good front end shop and Koni's are worth the money. Entegra did pay for my outside front end shop after the Spartan alignment did nothing, but I don't know about now with Entegra having an alignment rack. I also learned the hard way that tie rod adjustments are not part of a normal front end alignment and they can be one of the reasons for wondering.

As Gordon said, weight and air pressure is important too, but I know that won't help the wandering.

Been in your shoes Dr.

Have you tried Comfort drive? I went from sore back/shoulders after 300 miles, to going 600 miles and feeling great. Just a thought, it took me 5 coaches to figure it out.

Yes, I have driven Newmar with Comfort Drive. I will admit, nothing else drives like it, but it was just not enough to sway me away from Entegra.

Thanks for the comment!

Now thats just humorous. We paid $9,000 less for our Dutch than an Anthem with comparable equipment, real heated tile floors, a steerable tag axle, comfort drive, all tile even in the slide room, bigger tires, cathedral rear bath, and did a few of our own customs.
To top it off, I have found same year Dutch Stars BRINGING a higher re-sale price. Not asking price, real selling price.
Not trying to upset the apple cart here, but just getting the facts right.

Joe Your Newmar dutchstar is a 40 footer according to your irv2 signature page which means it's not a tag axle. Which is not comparable to a anthem. I hope to heck you paid a lot less for it ....
