Easy pass roof mount
I contacted easy pass in PA for information on changing my transponder from my truck/fiver to my Aspire. They tell me, aside from the $100.00 initial draw from my credit card (was $35.00 for my truck and fiver) that I would need a roof mount transponder. I'm not really happy about having to do something that I need to drill into my roof. They couldn't tell me what the attachment method was, other than it was on the exterior of the coach on the roof. Anyone have any insight on this?? Thanks

I have a regular car-type EZPass that mounts by suction cup to the inside of the windshield. I got it from the toll authority in Massachussetts. The roof top requirement may be wrong, or something new, or only in PA.
You don't have to get the EZPass in PA. You can get it from any participating state. I got mine from Mass as their fees were lower.

I am not sure what your issue might be, but my easy-pass works fine, whatever vehicle I have it in...

There are quite a few EZpass sellers. Some have monthly fees and others give discounts for some tolls. I have looked in NJ and NY, and found 1 without fees. It is the NY MTA pass. Since I live in NJ but traveled to NY often, I have the one that discounts the Varazanno bridge, but it cost $1.00 per month. It works on my class 3 motorhome, on the windshield. I have had no problems in PA using it.

Flora and I actually have two in the coach. One with a toad and one without. They attach with a velcro type device. I live in Pa and have had no issues. They auto deduct from my business checking account when needed.

Like others posting, we have 2 EZPasses for the coach, one when we tow and one when we don't. We mount the active unit with velcro provided on the windshield and store the other in a foil pouch. The amount on deposit depends on usage patterns. We use ours rarely, and they hold a deposit of about $25. Sometimes it goes up to $35. Our EZPass is from NY State and they are aware we have a 45 foot coach.
By the way, we have a third EZPass for the car, but it is in a foil pouch when we are towing the car.
All of this was done as advised by NY State EZPass and we have had this arrangement for at least 10 years.

I have two. One for the coach and one for the car. When I tow, I put the car pass in the foil pouch, as the charges for both vehicles are picked up by the coach transponder. This is how I have done it for 12 years.

I just purchased the new FL EZ pass and it works fine laying on the dash against the windshield. I bought it just before going to the Keys, went through four toll booths, never received a letter that I blew a toll.

Ditto for us, in the coach we just stick the tag to the inside lower left corner of the windshield. Works fine. EZ pass has the tag coded for an RV and the toll booth counts the axles including the tow (or so I was told). Ours originally came from NH, there are no fees just a minimum credit balance. Never had a problem or violation. The charges can be viewed in your account online. The other tag stays in the car in its foil bag and only comes out when using the car by itself.
We also have a Sun Pass for FL, I don't think they are accepting EZ pass yet.

Correct, I should have said transponder. However FL is trying to push forward to be compatible with EZ pass and the reason I had to buy the new transponder. The reference was for the transponder working in the windshield. The SunPass is now compatible in GA and SC and moving north from what they told me....But it does work laying on the dash of an Entegra.

Illinois I-Pass
You should look into the Illinois I-Pass. Their minimum is reasonable, and I gave them my Amex card and as soon as my balance drops below some limit (I think $20, then they add another $50 to my account from my AMEX card. Google Illinois I-Pass and read through the requirements. They are very competitive.
I have two transponders.... one for my coach and one for my car. I keep them both in aluminum foil until I head up north and then take them out as I need them. The transponders are linked to your license plate number so it is important to use the right one.
It is accepted in all EZ-Pass states except Florida which I think is different from all the others.
