P.S. If you haven't already, create an account at traillink.com. I use that ALL the time to find trail routes near where I'm visiting. You can zoom in & find trail heads/parking...etc. You have to have an account to view the trail maps.

Since we don't take a toad with us, our Tern folding bikes in the bay get us around when we travel. This week we are camping outside of Haymarket VA and using our Terns to get back and forth the 7 miles each way. Opened up a whole new world to us without having to get a toad.

I agree that the Bosch mid drive is well built and works well. Click image for larger version

Ungraded to Ebikes through a Colorado company where you purchase a motorized replacement front tire with lithium battery and cables to fit your current bike. Various size batteries available to cover what you like. I'm on oxygen and it has made it possible for me to continue riding, before getting this i would had to have quit.
The company is Leeds and I'm not at all connected, just very satisfied at a $600. upgrade vs new bikes.

Hmmm... Need to study that site a little more carefully Marc. Nearly any bike lock is intended to do just what you propose, but of course some make that easier than others. See this page on that site.

I've bought two "FoldyLock Compact" to keep on each of our bikes for doing just what you suggest when we stop to shop/eat/drink etc while out touring. Can use them individually or link them together and lock both bikes to a post or whatever with one big loop. When overnight traveling with the bikes on the rack, I have a couple of Kryptonite New York Noose chains to chain the bikes, rack and Jeep all together. Will use those same chains with a ground anchor installed at our summer and winter sites.

The irony in this thread is that I can't find anyone who posted who is unhappy with their electric bikes. I wasn't sure if I needed/wanted a 500 watt or a 750 watt motor and I can tell you that the 500 watt will give you a pretty good push with a mid-level assist level. The bikes are fun and get me to go outside and ride.

We tested 250watt bikes and even those were impressive. I went with 500watt for a little extra on hills. We have never had to go above 5 on pedal assist.
750watt would be a lot Power I suspect unless you want to hit some Mountain bike trails 500 would be more than enough power.
My nephew just built a custom 1500w version for someone to ride trails with.

Looks nice!

Another advantage of folding bikes: they can ship fully assembled.

David, kudos on the purchase. My Vtuvia bike came in pretty much fully assembled also. I had to mount the front fender and light and that's about it. I'm surprised by how much spunk the 500 Watt motors have. I would think that the 750 would be a big kick when you put the juice to it.

Chuck, I'm sure you must be chomping at the bit on anticipation for yours. I'm looking forward to the pics and review.

I hate to say this, but Lectric Bike delivery process has turned into a joke. 101 posts on their FB page with many people not receiving their bike. Five pages posted on Lectic Bike Review, most saying the same thing. It looks like this company bit off more than they can chew. Being sold out two months in advance with no shipping arrangements is insane. From the number of sales posted, that was over a Million dollars in first of Aug orders that FedEx knows nothing about. That came direct from FedEx yesterday. Lectic Bike says they are at FedEx in CA, FedEx says no they are not.

It may be a great bike, but if you don't receive it, it's worthless. More to come if it ever gets shipped.

Davidrvr is the first post anywhere that I have seen on the internet that has received his shipment.

My guess is that they are in a situation where they have no bikes in stock and ordered them to be delivered from China based on orders placed. I could have done the same thing with Vtuvia by ordering 20 bikes at a time. In their case the bikes would be shipped from one of their two warehouses in the US. One is in Delaware and one in California.

I must admit that I did give serious thought into going into the electric bike business because it literally appears to be nothing more than getting orders and having them drop shipped to the customers.
