Sounds like you have a lose turbo hose clamp or a hole in a hose. Or possible charge air cooler leak. Has the cooling package been work on recently and a clamp not tighten down?
Not unusual for turbo hose to come lose on a Diesel engine when you are getting up to 40 lbs of boost.

Sigh...no change. Air supply, clamps, etc. all checked out okay. We had fuel filters replaced back at Cummins Atlantic, Air filter and troubleshooting at Spartan...drove it today and still the same. So now, even though no slime was found in fuel filter, we will add the biocide, drive some and change the fuel filters again. If that doesn't work, not sure... Feeling like this rig is cursed.

Engine Power Loss

How much boost are you getting when under heavy load like on a grade?
Should be up in the 30s.

Low boost = low power
The ECM will not allow full fuel delivery until you have attainted a prescribed level of boost.

So what engine / coach do you have?

So if Spartan knew something was wrong why didn't they call Cummins in to check it out. In these cases shouldn't they call the Cummins distributor?

The times I have been there it's not usually to see a Cummins tech on campus working on a coach.

Have you checked your blue coloured hump hoses from the CAC? These should be checked yearly and torqued to 45-50 in/lbs. There are 4 to check.
