Entegra Anthem Length of plugged in time

Hello everyone,
New to the forums. Just picked up a 2019 Entegra Anthem 44F.
I currently leave it plugged into its own dedicated 50amp circuit in the garage.
With the new maintenance free batteries how long can (or should I) I keep the coach plugged into shore power? Primary purpose is to keep both the fridge and dometic basement cooler running.

Thanks

Joey

My coach is plugged in 24/7. You having 50amp no settings to have to change. I do turn the inverters off as I store off site. If power goes out, the batteries will not drain as fast. If it's in your garage, you will know if power goes out, so no worry there either. Congratulation on the the new ride and welcome to the forum.

Thank you Chuck. Yes, I too leave the inverters off.
It's parked at the eventual retirement home...
Naturally, I worry about the new baby!!!

Be well!

If your off site download the Nebula app, if you haven't already. You can monitor the coach daily if you have wifi at the coach. It is a great tool, I use it daily to check the coach. Sure has saved me a lot of trips to my storage hanger.

Hi Joey, welcome to the group. Nice taste in manufacturers, by the way!

I agree with Chuck. It is far better for the batteries to remain plugged in, than not. Battery life can be shortened by the number of times, and the amount the batteries are discharged.

Keep it plugged in. You will find 2 trains of thought on the Inverter On versus Off question. Chuck clearly explains one benefit to turning the Inverters off.

My counterpoint is that the Magnum control will program the voltage where the Inverters are turned off automatically. In Magnum speak, this term is LBCO (Low Battery Cut Off).

As you have an Anthem, it is likely these settings can be seen and manipulated within Vegatouch. Unfortunately, I can’t help you on any VT related questions.

We’ve left our Inverters on while plugged into 50A in storage since new without issue.

We could just be lucky!

Again, congratulations and welcome.

-Matt

I agree with Chuck. I keep my coach plugged in all the time when in storage. This is best for the batteries. Inverters off so that there will be minimal drawdown of your batteries in case of a power outage. Allowing your batteries to be drawn down to Low Battery Cut Off voltage puts an unnecesary discharge cycle on them and slightly diminishes their lifespan. Also, if the batteries are allowed to remain at that low voltage for any appreciable amount of time, sulfation can result which can permanently diminish battery capacity.

Even after low battery cut off for the inverter power, the parasitic draws continue to discharge the batteries. However not as fast as 110 inverter items. That is one nice feature of the new Nebula app is to check battery condition of the coach first thing each morning without leaving the house.
On the 14 when when the circuit breaker tripped at the hanger, by the time I stopped by the coach a week later the battery charge was way below the low battery cutoff. My fault for leaving the inverters on while testing a new set of batteries, I could have been the one to have tripped the breaker as it is shared 20 amp.

Just checked this morning , after 2 months the Mobley timed out and has to be reset.

I leave mine plugged in 50 amp service all the time and leave the inverters on. Haven't had a problem in 4 years (knock on wood).
