I don't trust spring clams and replaced all of mine with SS screw clamps.

After viewing the pictures I posted Chuck, I'm hoping Gene weighs in and advises if this is the new connection he was talking about. Obviously I have no steel sleeves. I will be replacing those 2 spring clamps with a different type of clamp tomorrow.

Reading about connections on an Aqua Hot in April Motorhome Mag, pg 54, photo 14, the metal sleeve is in the PEX pipe to the rubber hose.

I think Chuck is spot on. They are on the hoses to the engine preheat circuit that go to the engine cooling system. JMHO

This must be contagious because I noticed yesterday the aquahot reservoir was basically empty. The clear hose in the picture is still full of coolant but at some point the system has lost some coolant and I haven't been using the system either. That hose is rather soft and seems more like a tygon tubing rather than PEX but I only had a moment to look at it at the time. I'll probably know more about it tomorrow when I top off the reservoir and run the aquahot......

The metal sleeve and the PEX tubing fix is for the ENGINE COOLANT leak at the Aqua=Hot, sorry I did not make this clear at all. That has been a common leak on 14 and 15 models. Sorry, when I looked at the pics with the reservoir it just did not register. obviously that is not PEX coming out of it and there is no metal sleeve. Again, sorry for the confusion, my bad.

Having mine torn apart looking for a possible kinked line, the PEX pipe also connects to the rubber hoses of the heats exchangers. (Floor vents) Another possible place for a slight leak?

Also FYI it can take a while to totally burp the air out of the system. So, what may appear to be a mysterious loss of transfer fluid is really purging of air.

I need to order some of those constant tension clamps. Can anyone tell me what diameter clamp fits on the heater hoses correctly? Or perhaps a model number and source of those clamps on Amazon. I did spot repairs during my leak adventure but with upcoming AH pump replacement I'm going to sleeve all the connections I can and use the better quality clamp.

I just bumbled into these at Harbor Freight. They seem ideal for Aqua Hot pump replacement and other Aqua Hot repairs. They are fluid line clamps. $9.95 for a set. Seems less primitive than vise grips on the hose.

Entegra Aqua Hot 450D

Still waiting on our Entegra 2016 but had a concern about the aqua hot 450D. My friend has the same heater and they cannot take a shower with only the electric. Does anyone have this problem with the 450D? It only has one heating element. Here is some info from the aqua hot website.
AVG Fuel Usage/Day Shore Power 1-2 Gallons
If this means to keep up with hot water while plugged in you will still use 1-2 gallons of diesel fuel per day? Shure would be nice to upgrade to the next model (600D) 2 elements which doesn't need diesel fuel to keep up. This is what the website says about that model. AVG Fuel Usage/Day Shore Power 0 Gallons
